Snowflake is a recessive gene on the game that can not be tested for. That means that a horse must have two copies of the gene to express it. To have two copies of a gene the horse must inherit it from both parents (one from each). Even though the mare is known to be homozygous (have two copies), Jaclou mentions that the stallion was not known to be a carrier of the snowflake gene before this combination.

Well done everybody on your accomplishments for this years foals! I haven't even managed to finish breeding everything yet this year let alone sorting them. I'll be sure to post my little prides and joys once I've gotten caught up.

It is only shown with the LP gene. A horse may be homozygous for it, but if they do not have the LP gene, they will not express the snowflake.

So i bred to one of the public 2g mares (i tend to not spend more than 2k on a brood unless shes blue or has other genes/etc). and I got this stunning filly.....who is HOM KP. I then bred four other mares by the same stallion, thinking they, too, would at least be het kp and compliment my het kp sire. Not a single one survived the grade and not a single one got KP like her. This game sometimes haha
