Show Off Your Coventry Fair Drafts
-
I couldn't resist this new tack pack and decided that I would share some fancy dressed drafts:
Forpelian 2
Dorbeniv 2
Venroden 2
Cirlothen 2Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.

They're fun to dress up, aren't they?

I love these tack packs. I don't breed for drafts, but have a few in the game and love the tack pack.
And I'll always appreciate drafts in real life because I grew up on a farm where my dad had Belgians and Percherons.
I'd love to hear the difference between the show drafts in the UK vs the US in show drafts (in RL), because that aspect has always left me wondering.

Love the rollars and plaits, the docked tails look odd to me, are you allowed to dock tails in the US? Tail docking is banned in Australia, as well as the UK I think
-
Copied from Wikipedia:
In modern use, the term "docking" does not always refer to tail amputation as it does with some dog breeds. However, historically, docking was performed on some horses, often as foals. Prior to mechanization, tail docking of both light and heavy harness horses was common, viewed as a safety measure to prevent the tail from catching in the harness or on the vehicle. In the modern era, where most horse driving is for show rather than daily use, and even for working animals, the time needed to braid or wrap the tail is feasible, so partial amputation of the tail is not generally viewed as necessary.
The practice has been banned in the British Isles, Norway, parts of Australia, and in eleven states in the USA, but is still seen on show and working draft horses in some places. It is also practiced at some PMU operations.[1] The objections to docking include a concern that the horse can no longer use its tail to swat flies as well as concerns about the pain and discomfort of the docking process itself.
Some horses used for driving still have the tail cut especially short to keep it from being tangled in the harness. In these cases, the term "docked" or "docking" only refers to the practice of cutting the hair of the tail skirt very short, just past the end of the natural dock of the tail. Though less drastic than amputation, it can still be difficult for a horse with a very short tail to effectively swat flies. -
Still tweaking colors and tack, but I've been having fun decorating my drafties. :)Post edited by Johara at 2017-09-02 14:08:16Bluegrass #143376 * Specializing in Iced Axiom (ExPro Cobs) and Iced Phantoms (PF Riding Ponies)

Docked tails are part of a tack pack and not the general game for a reason. Since there is no cruelty involved with pixel horses people who like the look are free to use it. Those who don't, don't have to.Need to contact me? Read this first.

I have a question! Are the feathers always white or can we change them to match the color of the horse's leg if it doesn't have socks?
-
You can change the feather colours to match the horse's legs.ID 213454
-
If you have access to a photo manipulation program (I use Photoshop myself) you can drop the horse's image into it, use the color selection tool to find the Hex code for the leg color, then enter that number/letter combination in the spot provided for the legs you're working on.
-
Awesome, I figured it out for the top part of the legs, but I can't seem to get it right for the bottom part! I'll keep trying. :) Thanks!

I just can't get that front near sock to change. I tried doing "all socks" and "fore socks" and then each individual. Am I doing something wrong?

Every horse of mine has one white front foot that just won't change lmao
-
You pick just one single feather item not 4 of them. Pick the one that says no sock.Post edited by Ammit at 2017-09-15 11:29:17Need to contact me? Read this first.

I'm such a dork. I was waaaay over-complicating that in my head and I thought the "no socks' option meant no feathers. Excuse my ridiculousness lol
-
The updated feathers are pretty awesome! I've found it much easier to get 'natural' looking yellow and blue feathers on my Axiom boys. :D
