    Hey everyone! I’m 20 weeks and 1 day pregnant today and getting super excited! We had our 20 week scan last Tuesday and she’s definitely a girl! We are making her Keira Mae. :) Everything was perfect but there was a bright spot on her heart (echogenic intracardiac focus). My OB is not concerned AT ALL because all of my genetic screening (NIPT and AFP) were both negative/very low risk. Nonetheless, I’ve been SO stressed about it and have been kind of a mess. I’ve read every medical journal/research I could find (literally got to the end of Google) and with low risk screening results, it’s considered a normal variant and is seen in 5-10% of pregnancies! In recent years they’ve gotten more common because ultrasound technology has improved so much! She is absolutely adorable and I’ve been feeling her kick over the past week now. :D

    All that said, I’d greatly appreciate any prayers you could spare. This is one stressed out momma (I have severe anxiety issues as is)!

    Congratulations on 20 weeks! Such a big milestone especially in higher risk situations. My nephew had the same thing on his scan, he's 12 now and completely fine but it was a stressful time for a while.

    Thank you, everyone! I freaked out at first, but I’m feeling a lot better now after days of research, talking to people who had the same thing, and my cousin who is an ultrasound tech for an OB! :)

    Congratulations Keira Mae is a beautiful name! Pregnancy can be both scary yet rewarding/fun . I used to chart out what possibilities my kids could have genetically. Of course taking a wild guess what my and there fathers genes are like we do here with the pixel horses. I guessed I was heterozygous for brown hair and I have hazel eyes so I have one gene that's for blue and one brown?? "My dad has greenish/hazel eyes dark brown hair" my sisters and my mom are blonde with blue eyes. And for there dad full blown brown hair brown eyes and his parents are brown eyed and one brown hair the other black hair.
    My oldest ended up brown hair and hazel eyes.
    My middle ended up blonde haired and blue eyed.
    My youngest ended up blonde haired and brown eyed.
    Crazy right?

    Yes I can’t wait to see what she looks like! My husband and I have the same color hair (very common in Eastern European and Slavic countries - dark ash blonde/ash brown). My eyes are hazel and his are straight green!
