Merging has always been a vulnerable point for exploits in the game so to prevent bad actors and make merging more reasonably priced to those who want to use it in a fair-minded manner I have moved all account merging to be by request. You can no longer find account merging in the IV exchange. Instead, it is now located on your member home page under your Account Management settings.

The price for mergings has been halved to 15 IVS for a base price, but we now track every single merge and will be scrutinizing every merge request to make sure it looks like a real request and not like someone trying to exploit the name and collect new member benefits.

What is the correct purpose of a second account?
I think what you're doing is great, but after having 2 accounts, I would never do it again, it was just too confusing.

I am not sure what you mean by "purpose". Are you asking why some people play more than one account?

@Fiddler, I think outside of using secondary accounts as freebies to feed a primary account, there isn't a wrong vs. correct purpose for a second account. For one thing, a secondary account could just be another member of your household. Personally, I use a secondary account to breed exceptional drafts so I don't feel so bad about being strictly only perfect foundation riding horses on my primary. Those are lines I would never cross anyway, so using a separate account to keep them organized just made sense to me.

When I had secondary account I used it for the gift exchange , since everyone always needs pointed show ponies, I timed it so they would be ready to merge in June and / or December

That actually is an example of something that would not be approved for merging. That would be considered creating an account for the purpose of gaining new member features for your primary account. While the intention is good and I am not going to tell anyone off for having done that in the past we won't be approving any merges for that.

Merging is for when you actually play an account for a while and then eventually decide to merge them to streamline things. Not to aid your primary account.

I at one point had two accounts on Forest server. One was going to feature my dun splash riding ponies and horses and one was going to breed for the tallest possible livers, black livers, and blacks. I wanted to keep them separate so that I could leave my light boned horses in the pastures full time but still be able to breed the warmbloods (I didn't know/realize at the time that pasture bonus counted at rollover - I thought it was instantaneous). So it would help me keep the lines from mixing. I discovered about two or three months into the second account that while I loved looking at livers, I hated breeding for them - I found myself being conflicted about sacrificing performance for color, or vice versa, and I just wasn't enjoying it. So I sold or donated most of my foundation breeding stock, and then merged my new account with the old one. Now I just hunt for liver geldings or spayed mares in the auction and love it when they pop up in my lines and I am much happier.

The reason I had made a second account was in hopes of creating a new line and more self control, as well as not to confuse it with what I was doing on this account. Nowadays I don't use it as much and have been thinking constantly about merging just so I cause myself less stress. I will admit my second account definitely didn't go as planned, and I didn't stick to what I wanted it to be.
I have terrible impulse control when it comes to this game. My other account managed to become just an any horse is welcome type of thing like this one. Honestly feel like I'm in heaven when playing this game. I've always been absolutely obsessed with equine genetics.
It's like a buffet with genetic combinations, and if I'm being honest, I'm starving. :))

@ChateauAlbere, let me know if you're looking for liver/black liver/ etc horses on the Forest server. You should SEE the S+ black livers!

@BarnRaised, I'm with you. I set up a bunch of accounts with the best intentions in mind then forgot how much I don't like having multiple accounts! (Game play accounts, that is, not mod accounts)
