What generation?

@BarnRaised, thank you. I think your 6g gave me an intact colt but with single X gene whereas 2g gave me the color I want and double X gene but cut him

He is A papered. To get a better chance of a foal passing breeding advice, try him with blue papered mares.

Here he is, so when breeding him I should stay gold-blue paper range?

Would be way easier to get intact foals if bred to other 5g mares who are blue or gold papered. If you don't mind uneven generations, breeding to 4 or 6g may not be so bad either. I just wouldn't breed to red or yellow papered and I'd stick with blue or gold.

I've also noticed 4th and 5th gen is when getting intact babies starts becoming more difficult than the lower generations, so don't be discouraged.

This horse is a star which means the only thing that will make it easier to get intact foals is breeding him to gold mares. Maybe very high blue mares depending on where he falls. Generation does not impact it in anyway.


Humboldt's advice is spot on.

Papering will give you the "rank" yellow,red,blue, *Gold for mares/ C, B, A, *Star for stallions ; and then you can test your other star stallions against each other to see who is aga or Superior to the others

Most mares are red-papered, but two are blue. I'd like to keep one of the two blue-papered ones, but most of the warmblood mares are up for grabs, including XX horses, as I prefer the heterozygous look.
