Should I or should I not?

I don’t know if I should test her or not… I bred 2x and got a filly and a colt. I tested the colt and he got gelded. I don’t mind as much on the colt as I have a star stud that will be available next season. I’d like to keep her intact if possible so that being said, those who know more than I do, is she safe to test or should I leave her untested?

It looks like her dam is significantly better than the stud, so she probably wouldn't pass breeding advice. If you have the ability to comparison test, I would test her against her dam and only keep her intact if she's superior, but that's just me. If your primary goal is to breed particular genes and not improve breeding ability, go ahead and keep her intact without testing. The beauty of this game is that there's really no wrong way to play when it comes to breeding. You can do it however you prefer to make the horses you like.

Just tested and yeah she’s worse than her dam. I want to eventually get into breeding higher papered axioms and such just not sure exactly how/where to startPost edited by FramerVille at 2022-10-17 10:27:10

IMO, and this is just me ; I d start at the begining ; or as close to it as I was comfortable ; see if you can't get some 2g A colts and Blue mares and work your way up to start gold with them; you ll probably get more intact foals that way as well as get a broader expanse of genes to play with
