Where are you playing from?

Upstate NY in a little town called chateaugay that's basically all populated by farmers and Amish. We are surrounded my open land , forest and lots of hiking trails. Alot of people up this way travel south to sell hay to areas that can't grow as much. Everyone knows each other and everyone is always respectful and polite. Big horse community lol. We suprsingly haven't had snow. We normally have snow on the ground on Halloween but this year may be like 2012. Our weather has been in mid 40s and rainy/sunny . Normally we should have had 4ft of snow and snow storms but I think that'll hit mid December or January and unfortunately lasts till April.

This has been such a fun read! I grew up in Southern California riding horses in Temecula wine country. (Let me tell you I was so spoiled with waether for riding) I then moved to La Grande Oregon. Definitely my favorite place to live. Lived there for 2? Years and then moved to western Oregon. And yuck lol. Only mud and no snow. I lived in Scio for just shy of 2 years south of Silverton! And half a year ago moved to Albany OR. But the ponies stayed in Scio. So I go out there regularly!

I live in central Indiana. My Grandfather owned horses when I was kid, but I’m not particularly into horses as much as I am the genetics. I do enjoy watching horses; especially wild horses and draft teams. I would play this game if it was based upon about any animal. I love breeding all types animals for different colors and traits in real life. Feed bill is cheaper and generations come quicker with coded animals!

I'm from Northern Alberta Canada, not quite the Great White North, but about five hr drive from it.
Right now our weather is a hodge poge of all over the place ... last week it was -30C ( Which is not the coldest I've ever been in) but right now as I speak its +8C as a Chinook moves in. It could stay this way and melt or it could drop 20Cm of snow and drop back down into the minus's ... and it could do that in 12hrs (or go the other way) LOL Got to love Alberta in the spring time (actually we still refer it to Winter and will be till probably April ... if we are lucky) Hoping that the weather stays nice as winter has already had its -40C for a month go around.
So that's where I live in a nutshell ... where the weather makes lives interesting ... -
I'm on the Oregon Coast, in a little tourist town. Our population doubles in size during the summer when all the tourists come flocking to the beach, making traffic a nightmare. But for people who love green scenery and temperate weather, this is a great place to be; unless you hate rain. It rains here for more than half of the year, and we get all types of rain; from a light mist, to a downpour so heavy that you're soaked in seconds. We get sideways rain, swirling rain, and even rain that comes back up and soaks the underside of your clothes! But, when the rain clears and the sun shines over the ocean, it's a gorgeous place to be. And in November(the end of our rainy Autumn season), we can get some pretty impressive wind storms, which some nutjobs like to watch from the beaches(despite the barriers the police put up for safety during storms).
There is one beach, about 30 minutes from my house, that is part of a state park with horse riding trails. It's one of the best places I've ever ridden; nothing quite beats the feeling of racing across the beach on a horse that loves to run! -
I am right outside of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma US, in a little town called Mustang. Im originally from South Georgia US and moved here fifteen years ago.

Late to the question, but I live in Mesa, Arizona (I know- I play on the wrong server! ). Lived all over as a kid, but always ended back up in AZ. Spent a dozen years up in Las Vegas for school, but in the 2008/09 crash ended up moving back to AZ.Post edited by Wldmstnglvr at 2022-03-23 21:12:43

wow its great to know where so many of you are from! I'm a city girl who grew up in New Jersey then moved to Idaho and found horses, then moved back to the city, Seattle, to find jobs. And it's warmish and rainy this week. 40-50 degrees.
So in Idaho I rented horse pastures for 10 or 15 dollars a month and rode my horses in places that are fully developed today. One of the best times of my life. -
Wow! I haven't logged into this game for over a year, and I'm amazed (and quite happy) to see that this thread is still going strong! This community is a large part of why I'm jumping back into this game.
I'm now playing from the beautiful Emerald Coast of NW Florida. I moved here last June. We are definitely starting to get into beach season here. I've planted my veggies and a pollinator garden and can't wait to see those plants grow big and lush in the magic soil we have around here. Happy spring everyone!Thanked by 1Fiddler -
I'm in eastern Oklahoma, but from Northern California. We raise chickens, a few cows and Jacob sheep (the spotted sheep with the crazy horns). We're about 9 days out from starting lambing this year and I'm super excited :DStarstruck2 on Bluegrass and Forest

Starstruck2, those are amazing sheep, once upon a time, I really wanted to have some of them, but living in a city makes certain endeavors rather difficult.
-
It does, it took me a long time to get back to living on a farm as an adult after growing up on one. City life has a lot of great things to offer as well though!Starstruck2 on Bluegrass and Forest

I livein and play from Blackpool. A coastal town in the north west of England. I have moved north every time I have moved home. One more move for me, when my husband dies, to Essex in the south east of the country. Not for years yet I hope.

I live in a rural township about 25 miles south of Des Moines Iowa. Our closest neighbor is a mile away. I love all the riding space! Weathers been weird here also. Although right now its pretty decent out with temps in the 80s.
After all year with very little rain, we finally got a few inches. Not enough to fill the lakes and streams, but it certainly helps! -
I'm living in a proud state called Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. Yup... that poor country going through all that mess by now...Thanked by 1Fiddler

i love this thread. Being a typical american, I assume everyone else is from the states too. And we're not. People are here from all over the world!

It’s incredible to see where everyone is playing from!
I live in southeastern Virginia, right there on the coast of the Atlantic. I’ve ridden horses since I was 5 years old, doing western pleasure, hunter, and dressage. I also played around a little with cattle sorting and gymkhana, which was a lot of fun. I got into showing miniature horses for a while too, and now I’ve just got a couple retired minis that are serving as the cutest pasture ornaments. We’ve got some chickens, ducks, and goats too.Thanked by 1Fiddler -
I'm in the suburban Detroit, MI area. No room for horses here, but I do have a couple dogs that keep me busy, even in their old age.Thanked by 1Fiddler
