I need GE help!
  • I've tried sending a couple of different horses to my gift exchange partner but none work... I receive a message about how it failed to exchange because I "do not own this horse"...
    I thought it might be due to the internet browser that I was using but I've tried 2 others with no avail.

    Any help or recommendations would be much appreciated!

  • oooffff ; in this case dont link the horses( Or your giftee will know) , DO check to make sure they arent forsale or up for breeding somewhere. have you tried "selling" them for 1hb to some one you trust and then buying them back ? and then sending them?

  • I would double check the horses in question . Maybe they sent the first time and it just showed the error code. Mine told me to double check to make sure the horse had sent. See who it says the owner is. If it still says you own the horse then i would re copy the horses id number . Maybe the number was typed in wrong? Next would be to maybe messege someone with link to horse so giftee doesnt see and maybe that person could help pin point the problem? Next would be maybe to messege admin.
  • Does the correct horse come up in the image when you get the "you do not own this horse" message?

  • Sounds like you are messing up the id# of the horse.

    What Starstruck2 said. Are you seeing the proper confirmation image and information?

  • First of all, thank you all for trying to help me troubleshoot this one. Lol

    1) I checked and it does say I am the owner of the horses on their info pages.
    2) I removed the for sale numbers, and set it back to zero
    3) I copy and paste the ID, so I dont think I'm messing that bit up

    And yet still im getting the same message. This message is as follows (with no image attached) :
    'horse color: unknown
    archive: unknown
    error: you do not own this horse'

    Would anyone like to volunteer to a game of pass the horses? :p

  • The message means you are messing up the ID number of the horse. Make sure you don't have extra spaces or such in the number. Make sure you are using the number and not the name as well.

    ETA: I added a message to make it more clear when you add a bad ID#.

  • *gasp!* You did it Ammit! I was using the 'horse name' and the 'horse ID' that lives up in the web address.
    I'm getting the gift of a lesson learned this holiday season. -blush-
