Just Add Ornaments

This horse reminded me of a christmas tree, so that's how I went.

It's getting down to 11 (feels like -1) in central NC, which is pretty unheard of for us. I just spent the last hour super bedding down my goat barn because those girls are sissies. The horses will have their heavier blankies on, but seem to be enjoying frisking in our hurricane style winds right now. Power has been going off for people in our area, but *fingers crossed* so far we're good.

Ehh it’s -20f through -35f and has been up to -50f and possibly colder with windchill factor. I do snow removal so I’ve been out in it every day this week. So I don’t have time to decorate ponies or I’d happily be in on this.

I really hope she keeps the stripes since she is a spent candy pony [-O<

This was fun! It's more decorating than I've gotten done in RL (which is none). :P It's great to see everyone's decorating ideas. So many of these are so creative! I love the Christmas trees people are making and the snow and cloud effects. I was thinking of trying the same thing.

PS: I'm in northern Minnesota here. We've been lucky to get as high as -10 and some of our windchills have dropped down to -50. Almost two feet of snow as well and some of the drifts are getting pretty big!

I hope everyone in America is safe out there! It was even on our local news the other day (I'm from the Netherlands).
2 weeks ago we had night temperatures of -7 Celcius and days of -4 Celcius which was quite cold and a bit unusual, but now we have temperatures of 10-12 degrees Celcius which is quite warm for this time of year. And gray clouds with rain :( I still always hope for a white Christmas but I think that happened once or twice in my life (I'm 29 now).

I might give myself away to my giftee as I dressed up a pony for her exactly the same but I was so pleased with how it looked that I wanted to make another one for myself too haha:

I also created Santa's Elf Helper Pony. She is collecting the gifts in her baskets, ready to be put in Santa's sleigh so he can send them out tonight and tomorrow. Ofcourse Gift Cat and the Chickadee are helping to bring all the gifts to her. No gift can be missed!

I love all the ways the neck wreath has been used - never would have thought to make a tree or evergreen basket!

I'm up in New England. Rain and flooding yesterday and then the wind was crazy - sounded like trains coming at you. Trees and lines down everywhere. Transformer stations flooded. We don't have power but the generator is keeping our fridge cold, water pump on and our pellet stove powered for heat. No lights or way to cook or hot water but surviving. Headed to family celebration today - bringing my laundry with me to use my sister's washer. Stay safe everyone!

I'm hearing a lot about how it's getting frozen where other people are, but where I am, it's just getting pretty chilly and frosting over, possibly some single digit weather. We're bound to get snow probably in Feburary of 2023, as that's when we usually get snow here where I live.

For this reason she was worshipped during this time of year.

In Italian folklore, La Befana is a goddess who rides around the world on her broom during the solstice, leaving candies and gifts to well-behaved children. Placing a rag doll in her likeness by the front door or window entices her into the home."

There are so many beautiful images! One cool thing that would be nice is to be able to edit the size of items.

Currently its 0 degrees F and the wind hurts any bare skin outside. We are located around open farm feilds with little coverage from the direction the wind blows. We do have thick woods in the back but it doesnt do much when the wind whipps snow around. The horses are all inside and blanketed and the ice outside has me worried about the idea of them going out at all. My dogs who love the cold were begging to head in early while we were outside and everyone has been nestled up next to the stove even the cat.

Certainly not my most creative decoration attempt, but this one is in honor of my RL pony who turns into what the entire barn affectionately refers to as a chia pet for the winter. The poor baby hates the cold and maximizes his floof as much as he possibly can despite two heavyweight waterproof blankets with attached neck covers :))
