So I don't have a really big stable. I have several small pastures that I naively named for the different breeding programs i have going, you know, silvers, satins, etc... but the further I get into this game the more difficult it has become for me to actually reserve pastures for any particular group of horses. For example, the "high" satin group, 10 horses in a pasture, actually turned out to be 3 different breedings.
2 of my small pastures had all of their 20 breedings used up, but my main pasture has had only 40 breedings.
I'd love to know if there's a better way, thanks

I personally got to the point where I had to commit pastures to specific lines by generation. I have 29 non-primary pastures and will just add more when I need space for a new generation. I just couldn't handle moving horses to and from and losing pasture bonus etc. Too much work for my ADD brain to handle lol

I also have generational pastures, at first it was for separate lines bed aut I was running out of space, so I combined all of my lines. I now get a nice mix of fantasy genes for generations 3-8. My primary pasture is for my foundations to get 2sd gens, as I do require those to be A/Blue papered due to using B/Red papered foundations.

I have a pasture for every generation since all my genes are kind smushed into one line (I got tired of separating all my fantasy genes, so I gave up :)) ). Once the barn fills for that generation I get another one, but it takes a while. I think I have 2 30/mare pastures each for my 2G and 3G lines. I use my primary pasture for my foundations.

My pastures are organizedby generation and the genes I'm breeding. 3DFP is my 3rd gen pasture, focusing on homozygous DFP. 4Ax is my 4th gen all Axiom/WrongWarp/Nexus.

I then list the stallion names for that pasture so I know where to move each stallion. When I get new colts, I geld the older boys.

My pastures are organized by the generation in it followed by the "color" followed by size of pasture : 2gBlueAppies 100 or 7g Liver 60. I label my barns the same way and use 2 tabs after breeding when I cull out the aged out horses and replace them with younger ones ; less bouncing back and forth on pages and it works for me better :)

My main pasture is for my Gmt'd foundation studs and foundation mares that compliment them :)
