Double Cream DFP2 Horses - Program Closing
-
For a long time Cheshire Farms avoided breeding Creams into their Dun Factor Lines, since it diluted the presence of Dunfactor1. However eventually we fell in love with how Dun Factor 2 looked on a double cream dilute. After successfully breeding 4 generations of even breed stock, we noticed that our older horses markings were vanishing with age. This was quite the disappointment since we worked so hard to breed all the varnishing genes out of them. But it's the way the game is designed, so once again we had to change our goals. The goal of this program is to breed Solid Colored Double Cream Stock Horses with Dun Factor 2.About Our Breeding Stock
All of our breeding stock comes from Evergreen Boughs, or horses that are homozygous recessive for Reduced Varnish. Appaloosa breeders may also enjoy the Appaloosa Spot Regulator Genes in our lines. While we are currently working on breeding LP out of our lines, we also want to include Sooty and DP to deepen the expression and rich color of the DFP2 markings.Cheshire Farms began in May 2020 with a focus on breeding Dun Appaloosas. With hard work an dedication to the breed, we are now 13 generations strong. Our foundation is built upon excellent breeding stock and rigorous testing. You can expect the same dedication from any breeding program hosted by Cheshire Farms. Click here to learn more about Cheshire Farms.

@Ammit could you move this to the breeding section please? Or do I need to repost?
@MasterStablesMS sure thing, as soon as I can pull them I'll send them over. -

PROGRAM UPDATE
So I was hoping that with the bloodline being HOM recessive for Varnish, they would maintain their darker dun markings with age. But after making it 4 generations in, I learned that the more dilutions an appaloosa has, the more they varnish regardless of genetics.
That being said, it really threw a wrench into the program, so I will be going through it and seeing who I can turn into Solid Colored horses instead of Appaloosa. I'll try to breed the Appy out of them, and see about keeping them around for when ever we do get a Stock Horse BC. -

I'm doing a 3 day auction of over 250 Dun Factor Stallions. That should be enough time for you to grab some last minute things for the GE or do your breedings.
Stallions May Be The Following- 2nd to 14th Generation
- Evenbred or Bootstrapped
- Passed SBA
- Some have already been Comp Tested
- Some may be Maxed and/or Boosted
- Highest PT is 14.5
- Highest Paper is ***
- Big Spotty Appaloosa
- Dun Factor 1 & Dun Factor 2
- Mushroom
- Rainbow Riots
- Duns & Solids
- Lots of HOM Sty & DP
- TE1/2, H, Bl, P+, sa, gp
Looking for something specific? The horses name might help you find what you are looking for!- Search CF# for specific generations (CF2 being 2nd Gen, CF10 being 10th gen). These are all even bred horses.
- CF ____ BS will tell you that the horse is Bootstrapped (uneven bred)
- EV at the end of the name means the horse does not have any Recessive Varnish genes (they hold their color and pattern longer than horses with Recessive Varnish genes). Most my stock is all EV.

PROGRAM IS CLOSING
All horses have been put up for auction.
Foundation to 4th Generation
Genes: DP, Cream, DFP2, ASR1
