shorty foal--never mind. he's actually just short

i bred the below horse and it's shorter than a standard Wb. i sold it but am curious why he's so much shorter (realized most of my horses are around 16-17 hands, he's just 14)

Each horse will have a 'range' of stats that they can pass along to their foals. Just like with Performance Test scores, the foal can inherit the highest numbers in that range, or the lowest, but most often it's an average of the two (with some computer magic Ammit throws in to keep it interesting!). His parents are 15 and 15.2 hands. It's conceivable that they both contributed numbers/scores from the bottom of their range(s)
