A link to the horse would be helpful. With foundation horses, you can modify at will. It's possible that the parent she got the white 1 from is from the Rank Special that gives us horses with both KitW and KitW2. I forget which one that is at the moment, but there is one. If that's the case, then the W1 can only be changed for W2, since that parent has no unmutated Kit gene to pass on.
