Oh wow. I haven't won anything even raffles in years. Thank you so much.
Will the new markings show up on a brindle?
Or would this horse be better, I think I would have to remove the snow?
removed, horse unsuitable.
I have no idea how to choose one that the new markings would show well.

@OopsDotCom , muddy puddles needs a Tobiano gene to show best. if you use the search key for any of the genes they will give you examples
-
OopsDotCom whatever horse you post is the one that gets the genes when I send out prizes. Don't post a horse if you are not 100% that is what you want it on.
Phantom genes do not need tobiano. They just need pinto markings. But that horse is a bad choice because it is a very pail color. If you can't even see the splash markings you won't see muddy puddles either.Need to contact me? Read this first.

@Ammit ; thank you ; i get Tobiano and Pinto confused for some reason ><

Oops forgot I needed a foundation
Would these genes work? He's a Vault of Stars.Kind of speckled, though, doesn't look like a tobiano. And I don't know how to search for a paint.
Edited to add: I removed the LP and he looks better now.Phenotype: White Spotted Black Splash Tobiano Frame Appaloosa

I also have a Taco Town, whose markings are more tobiano. I should be able to change the gender, She has no foals?Phenotype: Silver Bay Dun Sabino Tobiano Frame Rabicano

Am pretty sure the horse has to be a Foundation for 1 ; That one looks like it might be lined? since it already has Rainbow Riot genes?
but pretty much any horse with Kit genes ( except roan) would work.Post edited by annismyrph at 2023-04-16 11:57:41Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
Which gene is the rainbow riot? I thought it was PBP but I don't see that showing. And I'm not sure which horse you mean.Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2023-04-16 12:27:10

I split this off so as not to cause issues with the orginal post. :)Need to contact me? Read this first.

For phantom genes, I make a point of looking for homozygous pinto markings and I avoid appaloosa, since phantom won't show on appaloosa markings. Also make sure the base color of the horse itself isn't too pale for markings to show well. A high white factor is good so there's lots of white areas for the phantom markings to show on. For muddy puddles, I particularly love it on splash, but that's just a personal preference. Tobiano is a great choice too.
Here's a list of all the genes considered "pinto" markings: Tobiano, W1, W2, W3, W8, W10, Sabino 1, Sabino 2, Kit M, Splash 1, Splash 2, Splash 3, Splash M. Frame with W20 combo will create "pinto" markings too, but I tend to avoid too much frame in my lines since it's lethal when homozygous, same with all the Whites.
Here's muddy puddles on a dark horse with tobiano and hom splash and extensive white factor:
3G Chin 17175118
Here's muddy puddles on a splash with medium white factor:
3G Chin 17025992
Here's an example of muddy puddles on a W20 frame horse. That white patch in the middle is created by the W20 frame combo:
3G Chin 17175176
I think muddy puddles also looks great on tobiano horses with tobiano modifiers like shatterglass:
2G Pud Stoli
Here's a search of all my muddy puddles horses. If you see a look you like I'll be glad to point out what makes it that way:

And muddy puddles absolutely can show on chimera horses, as long as the strand it's on has pinto markings. Chimera muddy puddles can actually look really cool:

If you need a foundation, I have some I can give you for free. I don't know which one the gene(s) would look best on, as I don't know anything about it, but I am sure the community will know

Thank you, Herzeloyde , that's very kind of you to offer, but if I want to gmt it further, or clone it etc it has to be a horse I bred.
-
@OopsDotCom You can GMT a horse you didn't breed or create yourself, as long as it doesn't have living offspring. You just can't clone a horse you didn't breed or create yourself.
-
Thanks!

Fun!
-
Boosts and Maxes don't need to be bred by you?Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2023-04-16 17:20:40
-
@OopsDotCom Nope. You can boost and max horses bred by other players as long as they have no living offspring (and are still young enough in the case of boosts.)Thanked by 1OopsDotCom
-
Thank you again. I looked, but can't find. Can boosts be bought with HB?
-
Yes, boosts can be bought with IVs on the IV shopping page, just under the GMT purchase option.

Awesome! My searches kept taking me to where you buy them for cash.
