Show us your best Friesian horse reference images
-
What makes a good reference photo? Images should have:
-Bright, clear lighting, without overly dark shadows
-Be side-on shots with the photo taken square to the shoulder, like the current images in the game.
-Be good examples of the breed type.
-Show as much of the horse as possible, tall grass hides a lot of leg details.
-Bonus if we can clearly see at least some of each leg.
-Limited, or ideally no tack at all.
-In addition to the nice square on body shots if you have an image of a body part (like a head, mane, tail etc) that you think is particularly nice feel free to share it but we need square full body shots more than anything.
We need adult horses AND foal images (around age 6 months, not newborns).Post edited by Ammit at 2023-05-01 07:19:03Need to contact me? Read this first.

We also could use shots of Saddlebred foals (around 6 months of age) if you have good ones.Need to contact me? Read this first.

To make an example of the one above, this one would be a better image if the head was straight and the tail was not covering the leg.
Thanks Ichigo!Post edited by Ammit at 2023-05-01 07:49:42Need to contact me? Read this first.

Trying to find photos of horses where the *majikal* hair isn't obscuring the whole animal.
Something to be aware of will likely be trying to mesh the different types of Friesians. I think when most people think of them, they imagine the baroque style.
Unfortunately this guy is standing like a dork.
Iron Spring Farm tends to have decent conformation photos.Thanked by 1Ammit -
These are fantastic!
And who says we only have to one from each breed ;)Need to contact me? Read this first.

I really like that second to last one that @lecobb8 posted. That's gorgeous.
I always have to stop and look when I see friesians like this with really upright head carriage and almost ripples on the neck. I love when they're rounded and well-muscled yet refined and smooth overall.
And I've always loved Hessel. :)
Here's a couple of mares as well:Post edited by Cavalynn at 2023-05-01 10:40:06 -
Here's a few no-tack head shots that show good examples of the head detail:Thanked by 1Ammit

It's hard to find photos of foals not lying down or running about, but here's a few, the top two about six months old I think.

ya foal images are particularly tough!
Thanks for these:DNeed to contact me? Read this first.
