I was able to pick up a couple on Era 6 and 11. I'm definitely maxed on the mares I can use for Era 6, but I might have some more for Era 11. Even bought a 120 Barn just to hold BF mares, which is 60 more mares than I use to use lol. That's already full now.

@Cherobird, those studs are era 5, not 8.

I ve personally bred over 60 futurity foals this month, I haven't seen 6 of my studs used yet this month though , Era 6 needs 12 and era 11 needs 10 as of last night to hit the "goal" of 25 stallions , People I know some of you dont want to mess with your lines , but these are basically show horses we are breeding for and generation or paper matching really doesnt matter here ; just snip them lock them for futurity and toss them in the show barn. I get it not everyone has 60 open extra stalls or an extra barn ; but you are certainly keeping 10 of your own foals for show stock ; so just replace them with futurity foals.

My biggest barrier is that I don’t have mares from the younger eras, so I’m going to flip this a bit and list which eras I do have mares open. If folks want to send straws at pull cost labeled “Futurity”, I will do my best to breed them. Or tag me/DM me with stallions for live cover. I do prefer even generations and no LP (or het LP) in case I get one intact. My ID is 175087.

Era 3: 3rd, 4th, 5th gen
Era 6: 3rd, 4th, 5th gen
Era 7: 4th and 3rd gen
Era 8: 4th and 3rd gen
Era 9: 3rd and 2nd gen
Era 10: 3rd and 2nd gen
Era 11: 2nd and foundation gen
Era 12: 2nd and foundation gen
Era 13: foundation
Era 14: foundation

Right now, era 6 needs the most help, @alasseelstable, so pick an era 6 stud not on the list yet and breed to him. 10 mares is what it takes.
None of the more recent eras needs help right now

@AlAsseelStable You don't need to match era, you just need to make sure that the era of the mare isn't lower than the era of the stud. The foal's era will still match the stud that way, since it's the lower era of the two parents that's assigned to the foal. You could be creating mares just to use for brood and then auction them when you've used them to produce futurity foals, so you don't even have to use your own breeding mares that you'd rather have producing foals for your own lines.

I don't have mares to breed with myself, as all my current broodmares are Era 0, but I have about 1000 ET mares I can use

Question, does futurity lock matter to their performance? I never worried about it, because I just geld them and toss them into a show barn that I never sell from.

@CheshireFarms Futurity lock makes no difference, except to help you not accidentally auction them or sell them back to the game. Although if a player is offering an incentive for futurity breedings, they might only search for locked foals when paying out prizes.

i try to futurity lock all of mine, but i've been slipping, as it is so awkward to do. but i won't sell them either. they're named differently and i can tell them apart from "home breds"
having said that i still think i need to go back and lock them... ak

Ammit suggested we focus on an era important to us, as each of us can't do it all. and I was overstepping by telling you to focus on the one I was worried about.

Something weird happened with the boards the other night, so it might be worth paying attention to it since we had that one Era end with only 24 studs last month.

I refreshed the futurity after breeding to all the 3rd Eras, and Era 2 went from 25 to 24 horses. So I made some more mares and found a stud to breed to that wasn't on the board. After I finished showing those babies, I refreshed the board only to find that stallion was indeed on the board, but he had over 700 points. So he should have been on the board this whole time. I posted about it in Era 2 chat.

I think CheshireFarms may be right. I was checking the era boards for the placings of my stallions in 14 and 15 and last night the two from the same era one was in first place and the other was a few places below the first. Today when i rechecked the boards only 1 horse shows and the other is no longer on the boards for best producing stallions. @-) I thought maybe because it was late last night i did it that i just thought or mistaken or even dreampt it . But it makes sense since somehow my foundation stud is beating my maxed out 3ed gen who has foals maxed out.

This was said horse in question. But now that i double checked everything it appears he dropped foals produced to under 10 which would take him off the boards so i just bred him again to get the number needed to be put back on the boards.

Also if anyone is still looking to swap straws i have a list of stallions in different eras to pick through.

@fiddler I think she might be confused, she mentioned best producing stallion, and that's for Breed Club boards not the Futurity boards

What happened to me was around 2:30am last night I refreshed the boards, and a horse from Era 2 dropped off. So I went searching chat to find a horse listed for public breeding that wasn't on the board, and I found MS5 GP NocturnalForLong owned by MasterStablesMS. I checked his name and he didn't show up on the boards, so I bred 10 foals, showed them twice, and refreshed the boards. When they refreshed it showed Era 2 as being full, so I was expecting to see MS5 GP NocturnalForLong on the bottom with barely any points. Instead I found him in the middle with over 700. So I don't know why he dropped off, or if the boards just didn't fully load or not.

He did not have 10 foals so was not allowed on the board but he did have some foals with points.

I was meaning the era clubs not futurity. I was relating to having a horse drop off the boards but solved it. Unfortunately not alot of others have bred to any of my stallions to get them on the futurity boards . I think i have less than 5 currently in the futurity.
