So,
I've seen herd helpers for red & black based greys and red based blacks... Just wondering if this will also become a herd helper for the browns, and what they might look like? Curious because this is one of my favorite boys to look at and it got me wondering.

I'm pretty sure that there are no "red-based blacks" as such. At least there are no herd helpers with that color name. However, if you have a red-based horse with two copies of Sooty and two copies of DP, you will have what is sometimes called a "black chestnut." In the game, they are still termed "liver chestnut." The Herd Helper Freaky Friday that we see on Friday the 13th, can be ee SstySsty DpDp. However, these horses can also be E? SstySstyDpDp, and their base color is then Black. This year, we will see Freaky Fridays again in April and July.

Candy Appleloosa is a Rank Special that is homozygous At brown. I'm not sure I've seen any regular brown herd helpers since Ammit added At and A+ to the agouti alleles.

There is a Rank 5 Herd Helper that is called True Breeding Brown Appaloosa. It would be EE AtAt and LlpLlp which is pretty close to your boy.
