Eras and breeding
-
So, after a year of almost understanding what i'm doing, and the entrance of futurity competitions,
i have discovered that maybe the quickest way to breeding top ranking horses isn't really that useful.
It seems like i'm getting a lot of era 0 horses, but that is where the competition appears to be the fiercest. I am thinking of retiring most of my era 0 stallions and mares. (they're probably great show horses, right?)
what can you more experienced people tell me? -
If you want specificly to breed for the futurities, then the era 0 club is definately the hardest one. But the era 0 horses are the ones that do best in the breeders clubs, so if you want to chase the GMTs in those, it would be a big mistake to retire them. It really depends on what you are going for.ID 195859Thanked by 1Fiddler

I've found it easier for me to get gmts from my era 0 lines especially when it comes to color clubs, the first futurity my era 0 did better than all my other eras (but that was the first futurity when things were fresh and people didnt have much of a plan). He was easier to advertise too, my other eras didn't have many takers. Used just enough to fill gaps in the board.
I guess some people have it differently with difficulty.
Era 0 club (instead of the color clubs) I've been playing for years and I have yet to benefit from that club. Most if not all of my top producing color club stallions that rank anywhere from 2nd- 10 can't even begin to compete in the era club. -
@barnraised, yes, those horses have pt of 15+!!!

If you want to breed for eras but don't want to compete with the mega barns you need to go for any era other than 0. 14.1 is the top in era 1. 15 is the top in era 0. Era 1- doesn't even hit 13. Plenty of places to compete.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )
