10 Years Playing HuntAndJump?!
  • How is it possible? I've been playing H&J since I joined on March 22, 2008! I just wanted to make an appreciation post to Ammit for making this game so great. The longest "break" I've ever taken from this game was when I studied abroad for a month and even then I was still sneaking on here when I could haha. So obviously I've been pretty obsessed. :) It's amazing to think of the way the game has progressed, from having no images (unless you had an upgrade and hand-drew one!) to paint chips to head shots to these amazing full body images, and then the addition of riding horses and drafts. And I just love that the game evolves to mirror new findings in genetic inheritance for color genes. I've always had a small barn so I don't have anything fun to give away to celebrate, but I'd love to hear how long all of you have been playing! I know there are still many who have been playing longer than me. So thank you to Ammit for making such an amazing game! Here's to the future, when hopefully I can start to better financially support this game when I finally get my graduate degree... lol ;)

  • I started New Year’s Eve 2006. Before that I’d try a few new games during school holidays but they never really kept my interest long and after that I haven’t even looked elsewhere because this game is awesome.

  • I signed on Jan. 14, 2011, after watching, fascinated, while my daughter played for 8 months, so it's been just over 7 years of playing HaJ for me. Ammit's creativity and continual search for ways to make the game better, up-to-date scientifically, and just plain fun with the various fantasy genes, keeps me playing, and marveling at how whatever she learns about horse genetics, image generation, and game coding gets worked into HaJ to keep it fresh and ever better to play every year. And all of that with only minor hitches and down-time. That's an incredible record. Thank you, Ammit, for the best game around.

  • You guys are amazing. Thank you so much for sticking through it all!

Also can I just say. Holy crap. So many decade+ members still around. That's crazy.
Need to contact me? Read this first.

I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

  • I have also a 10 year anniversary next month. I am really having fun with planning a lot of fun things to celebrate next breeding season! :D
  • Congratulations to all!

It's definitely easy to get into this game. And I think I have finally figured out how to get the color/patterns I am after. I have only been playing for a little over 2 years, but I am sure I will continue to for several more.
  • Congrats! Welcome to "The Decade Club"!

    I joined Feb 5 2007.

Maybe we should get a badge or something? Or maybe a super special magic wish only known between us and the magic that is Ammit!

I love this game.. my longest break was about 6 months when I had to file for bankruptcy and move. other than that I think I check in daily, especially now with the chats.

I love this game.. its challenging, the community is great and it's constantly evolving. Should I mention it based on real genetics.. so it's also educational?
Where else are you going to find that?

  • I joined in November 2009, so I'm not quite up to Decade standard. I stumbled on this game when trying to find out how horses got their coat colours (I thought that maybe crossing a black and a chestnut would give you a bay! I've learned so much now). As well as being educated on genetics I have learnt how to use spread sheets on a computer, a really essential skill if you are really nerdy about planning your breedings of - let's face it - pretend horses. The game has kept me interested thanks to Ammit's dedication in continuing to evolve the game, and the community on here is just about the most friendly and generous bunch around. Long may we all continue. =D>

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure.

  • I took a break for a bit and apparently lost my original account, so I'm not totally sure when I joined. But I remember the days of no images (unless you created your own - or paid someone on the forum to make them for you), no Appaloosa, sunwolf and Gael4ce. The game has sure evolved over the years!
  • In 2 years and 2 months I will be joining that 10 year club. In the meantime, congratulations!
  • Does bouncing back and forth between games and servers count? I originally started in 2007 (I think!) Then went full Shoco/WHG, then went to HJ2.

Maybe I'll refer to mine as the KD experience!

  • I miss Shoco myself. The showing system was so much easier to understand there until the new showing system was put in place here. I showed horses there, I didn't bother to show horses here under the old show system.
  • 2006 I think for me, my son was 2 years old... lol.
  • I would guess I was in the 2006-2007 time frame myself. Shoco/WHG is actually what led me to initially take a break from HJ. I was so active there from day 1 (literally, I was user 18 or something like that!) and western was more my thing, so HJ slipped. I miss that game!

  • I reach 10yrs in June :)
  • Maybe we should get a prize LOL!! either that or previous Decade Club member should gifr the new ones a special prezzy... Then again I'm just weird
  • Only 7 years for me, but even in that time the game has developed and changed heaps. The only online game I've ever played for anything more than short term

  • Wow, so many memories! I originally joined Shoco on December 24, 2005 and Hajinc December 25. I had gotten married earlier in the year and we finally moved and got internet. I was a riding instructor at the time and winter was slow and I was missing the old open Sim games I had played in high school and college (making those websites was how I learnt html). So a interet search lead me to this awesom game!

I remember the time before images and spending so much time drawing my own. Shoco was my game of choice (The Double J) and I was obsessed with calculating gains, and the horse head images where amazing!

I generally play in spurts and lost my account a few years ago when I linked my upgrade to my credit card and forgot when the card expired! It was worth it to start over, but sometimes I miss the old guys.

I cant say thank you enough to Ammit and the whole community that makes this game so addictive.

  • Was Shoco that far back? If so, I've been calculating wrong! I was 1375 on Shoco, so maybe I should calculate from 2005!

  • No, Shoco was after hajinc which opened in 2006. I think 2008 maybe?

I've been here since November 2006, half my life!

I would like a trophy, if you please. "Old farts club"
  • Ha ha. I must really be an old fart if I can't remember the year! My husband doesn't remember what year we moved either.

Ah well, it's been many years of good times, and I always love walking down memory lane.
  • I joined in July 2007, it's been an amazing ride.
