So with the breeding more often that wont mean our horses age every month as well will it?

Hmm, the main reason why I play HJ1 and not HJ2 is because I liked the relaxed pace. Now if I want to breed my horses, I am going to have to take time away from my other projects. However, I can see your reasoning. I suppose I will have to wait and see how this plays out.

Hj2 absolutely trounces HJ1 when it comes to helpers. They have whole chat rooms and clubs based around helping people out. There is always some contest going on there too. When it comes to helpful players HJ2 wins hands-down.

HJ2 also buys a lot more special genes than HJ1. Far more people are interested in them over there. The community is just more energized and engaged with each other.

I haven’t been playing for very long, but I like and appreciate this change! I haven’t been on HJ2, but I do like the faster pace you are now offering! Don’t let HJ1 die out! I love it too much!

Ya way to many people have too much invested in it to let it sink slowly into the dark. I would hate to see that happen, but like I said we really felt that that or this change was the only options here. I only have some much time, money and energy to put into the servers. It makes no since to do so for the one that is the poorer game for most people. I know it sucks for the people who like the two month windows though. I feel for them on that for sure.

And a reminder you still get exactly as many foals per limited gene foundation you purchase. They don't have any less seasons.

Like I said in the first post you are going to see a huge increase in your daily bonus.

This is very exciting. Since I came here from HJ2, it has been hard to adjust to the slower pace (although I really liked it!) I can't wait to see the life come back here since I missed the activity and helpfulness of everyone on server 2.

Hmmm. This is the first time that I haven't had enough hours left over in my life to get my horses sorted and breeding ready/bred within the first couple weeks, of the first breeding month. In fact, I haven't bred a single thing yet this season, and I'm only going to become more busy in life in the near future. Not sure how this change is going to work for me personally, but I do hope it helps you guys be able to streamline and boost HJ1 for the future.

I just took a look at my points to compare my daily show bonus after the change.

(2,845,025pts*0.75)/7 = 304,824hbs/day

Which means my daily bonus will increase by 101,600 hbs/day.

I had a thought but I don't actually play HJ2. Are the barn cost %'s the same there or is it different because of the shorter year? It's a month of show bonus here, right?

I think this is a good thing . I play on both servers and have noticed that hj2 community is a lot more engaging , There are more posts on the forum more interaction between players it just seems a friendlier place (that does not mean that people here are not friendly, I think the long breeding just means people come and go at different times over 2mths so the whole environment here just moves slower). Not sure why, Hopefully the faster pace will attract more people to the server and inject some life into the old girl. It more attractive to new people to have the one month breeding as they can see results faster and not get bored and wander off.
breeding every month is nothing to be scared of. I don't breed all my horses every month on either server so i breed some one mth some the next .

I understand why it has to happen, like you said I don't want H1 to die out.
However, I tried HJ2 and noticed that the shorter breeding season wasn't my thing, so I kinda quit over there. I only play here now. It will take me some getting used to (and I deffo need to start culling again to be able to complete my breedings xD), but I rather do that than not have HJ1 at all.

It will normalize. HJ2 players earn the same amount over time as HJ1 players. Your horses just have more points because they have more RL time. You will have normalized income after those older horses age out.

They were pushed there because the retention rate is much higher on server 2. People are more likley to play so I lose money if I push people here.

I love changes, but I am not super exited about this one. I struggle enough to breed as it is, I love my lines, and HJ is my way to relax wheb I can. I breed some horses, and then, the next time I have internet, I breed somemore etc.
I have an account ln HJ2, that I don’t use, because I don’t have enough time and internet for it, so the short breeding season is stressing me more than it enjoys me.

Is there any chance the extra price for barn bought with IVs will be a bit smaller to help with the transition of strategies for a while?
I also worry about the pasture system. Right now, my system is optimalized for the 2 months, so I rotate the mares to get full pasture bonus every 30 days. With the new system, this will not be possible anymore

No, I will recieve less money pr breeding season, even with the compensation.

Today, I earn 462,510/day x 60 days pr 2 months (just to make it simpler) = 27,750,600 pr breeding season.

With the bonus increase of 0,75,I will recieve 693765 hbs a day, x 30 days = 20,812,950 pr breeding season.

(Please correct me if I am wrong, math is not my strongest skill)

Since I pay an extra 169% on stalls, I am really going to feel the loss of the hbs, and I am using a lot of real money on the game as well, expecially on real life gene sales, but also on pastures, premium subscription etc.
I know that I am a big barn, that is why I try to support it with real money whenever I can, because I really, really love the game :)

I have two accounts on HJ2 I actually stopped playing on the second server because I didn't like the fast pace of the breeding season and how quickly my horses aged out of the game.
I guess I will have to drastically reduce my barn in order to keep up or like someone else said do more AI.

I must say I will struggle with this.
I much prefer the slower pace and my barn is set up for it. I'll have to reduce my barn size considerably and stop with any new lines. It's the expensive lines that would have to go as these take the most time to breed. I love HJ1 :(

Ammit - you can't please all of the people all of the time, but you can please some of the people some of the time! >:)

It'll take some adjustment, but as you said Ammit it's better to have HJ1 then not at all.

It's going to be a hard transition and it's going to be even harder to see horses that we have spent a lot of $ on pass out of the game so quickly.

But like all the changes that have been made, if its for the good of the game, well I'm game to try it.

I am going to have to reevaluate my goals now though. Must put some thought into what to do now. :-?

May I just ask though: Do you expect a lot of longtime players to leave the game now? Just wondering if that's what you mean by this comment

That would drastically delay other plans we have going on. Sorry it just is not feasible.

I see this new plan helping tge new player but making it harder for old players i find breeding takes alot of time and it can be hard to have enough time to sort and breed so many horses with so many fantasy genes to breed now its so hard to keep up i wonder how long it will take me to get bord of the game as by time i log on the breeding the season will be ending and my good horses will be dying as this was my issue on hj2 but hey as long as im paying my monthly subscription what does it matter

While I do kind of understand after you explained, as someone who's been on HJ since very early on but never really played much HJ2, I'm surprised to hear it's the dominate game now! I knew this forum wasn't overly active compared to the OLD forum, but I think I was on WHG or not involved when the forum changed over, so I just assumed it was never as active as the old one...

From a business perspective, I totally understand the change. From a selfish personal perspective, I'm very saddened. I like not feeling obligated to log in constantly. I have a premium upgrade that I let handle all the showing and training for me, I just log on to hit the pasture breed button and sort through all the babies. Sometimes I get on a kick where I log in daily (like I have been this week), sometimes I won't log in once between breeding seasons. When I started playing originally, I was in college with minimal outside responsibilities aside from my dog and horse. Now I'm working full time, have a small side business, and have my own home (and all the responsibilities that go with it), plus the critters. I just can't put the same kind of time into the game as I once did and I like not feeling like I have to. I'm willing to give it a chance and hope it won't end up being a big thing, but I also won't be surprised if it's the thing that pushes me to give up my little guilty pleasure.

The reality though is, I spent WAY more real life money when I was a newer account (every time - when I was a member early on in the game's history, when I rejoined, and in the WHG days) than I do now even though I have more expendable income than I did in the beginning. Aside from my monthly upgrade fee, I'm not doing anything that financially supports the game simply because I make enough game money to buy barns, boosts, and gene mods (and I'm not into fantasy genes or tack really) and don't need cash infusions. I understand this change is strictly business, and a bunch of players like me don't keep the game afloat. If you can't get an adequate number of new players sticking around and putting money into the game, it can't keep going - and the HJ2 system makes it easier for new players to jump in and get involved.
