What's Up With Breeding?
-
It's April 10th. On my account it says pastures should open on the seventh, but it won't allow me to breed. Anyone know why?
-
Here's a troubleshooting checklist for you:
- Are all of the mares over 3 years old?
-Is your stallion over 2 years old?
-Have the mares already been bred?
It would also be good to check how many foals the stallion has had- they can't have over 50 per season.
-
It does not look like you have any horses in your pasture at all.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

@urkidnme, can I swipe your post to use on my 'Links list" on HJ2? That's a really good idea!
I don't know how well the links list will translate to HJ1, but I'm hoping to start one over here, too, eventually!

I don't have them in my pasture, as I wait til I'm ready to breed. Have different studs depending on the mare. It says they've been bred but I haven't breed them or had them in the pasture. I removed them after breeding. There also isn't any foals. My stallions didn't get much work last season. Even mares it says haven't had foals aren't able to be bred. Everybody is 3 or older. One stallion is 5-6 the other 10. Mares are 3-5 years old.
It's confusing as I'm really excited to pair a few this season. Was hoping to get some mares to pair to a promising foal from last season (He's amazing and gorgeous, I love greys. He's a grey sabinio appy- ignore spelling errors by the way) but I need to breed them first. Really excited as this game is fun and I really really want devolped pedigrees. -
It let me breed two mares.. But it says mares I bred last season have had a foal this year.. And two mares I bought that had foals last year still aren't breedable. I'm really confused
-
And a foal I just bred came out a yearling..
-
Yearling is normal, they used to say foal for a while then yearling but basically they will all be 2yo at the next end of year rollover.
All your mares have been bred, and all except two have yearlings listed. DawnyBeach and SilverPrizeWinner have either had their foals sold back to the game, or you put them up for public by mistake and they could have been used as an ET mare. So no foal will be listed but can't be bred again.
Either way they are all bred nowPost edited by Kintara at 2018-04-10 17:28:50 -
Huh. None are up for public breeding and I haven't done any breeding except for two foals today. Dawn and Silver were sold to me bred last season
-
Scratch that about dawn.

It looks like your mares have been bred this season. Most of them have foals that were born at the end of March. Most that I am seeing are marked as yearlings born around March 25th or March 26th.
For HJ1, there are two real time months to one game year. So, January and February were one game year and March and April are one game year. You will have to wait until May to breed those mares again. -
That is true for now. This breeding year runs through March and April.
However, starting in May, the HaJ year will be 1 real life month long, just as it is in HaJ2.
Here's a link to the announcement by Ammit at the beginning of April.
