Loss of Mermaid look but not candy?
-
So I know of three distinct ‘over-ride’ appearances (regardless of their actual genetic colour), our lovely equine creates can receives:
Candy - current in October seems to be a sort of speckled look as if it’s a bowl of mixed candy pieces
Candy(cane’ - has been in previous years and think is still the general ‘candy’ look, which gives horses a red and white striped look
Mermaid - I recall receiving it this summer, with creates obtaining different look via fishy tail and fins.
My query related to after you ‘hand in for gene modification token (GMT)’.
You still retain the horse. The candy and candy(cane) creates still have their additional appearance event after handing in for GMT. Even after a page or image update.
However, doing so for the mermaid horses results in the loss of their stunning, unique look. I was still hoping they’d retain their mermaid appearance similar to the Candy horses.
Is this how things are supposed to work, or have my mermaid horses glitched? Are candy horses glitched in that they Don’t lose their special appearance after handing in for GMT?
Would help to perhaps have things uniform for all GMT hand in looks or maybe added information explaining loss of look per type mer, candy, candy(cane), etc
Sorry just my poor brain isn’t ‘getting’ why both are different. -
Generally, the horses won't lose their candy "coating" until either you re-seed the image or the game naturally rerolls the image as it does with grays and appaloosas. Also, they will lose their coating over time as well. Just refreshing the horse's image won't always do it. As to why some lose their candy appearance more quickly than others, that part, I don't know. I also couldn't tell you why this seems to be more common with your sea ponies than other candy creates. Rotten lucky? Plain randomness that just doesn't seem random? Only the Haji gods can tell. :)Craven Hill - 86081

The sea pony trappings are also tack items, not part of the coat color in the same way as the candy pattern. Tack items are added much later in image generation than the candy coating so I think they come off easier as well.

Definitely another possibility. I had completely forgotten about that. :-SCraven Hill - 86081

If the candy coating is staying after yo turn in for a GMT that is also a bug. You don't get to keep the look after turning them in.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

The candy look always seems to stay for me. I have an older gray black mare that still has her candy stripes, though they have faded some as she's grayed out.

I didn't realize this was a bug.Post edited by MackZ at 2023-10-29 16:52:02 -
I had a horse in my stable previously, they had the candy stripe coat, but I obtained them via the AH. Without the GMT option on them.

Sadly I didn’t realise that my gorgeous sea ponies would lose their looks, since my other Candy ponies ALL kept their coats after GMT hand in.
Would have waited till they were all in their late teens before trade in.
My current Halloween Candy ponies still have a candy coat or did last I checked, rather than their actual coat colour on display.
