Can't gene modify. What am I not seeing?

they are both second generation horses, so you cannot add new genes you can only add or remove whatever genes are available from both parents. For example, if the mare and stallion both carried splash and the foal did not get it, you could gmt for splashThanked by 1OopsDotCom

Odd... for some reasong w hen I tried to do it yesterday I got the message "cannot gmt this horse. Today it worked fine.

did either of them have a foal you sent to auction? You need to wait until the foal is sold back to the game and the Family Member number is 0

They're only 3 years, so they wouldn't have foals.
It's okay, no need to help more. The problem went away.
