comp testing colts not helping

    I comp tested a bunch of two star stud colts. All of the horses that appear in this barn tested as good as Ace of Spades (except for one marked less). So i SBA'd the whole gang of them and 3 were gelded.

    there was one that tested not as good as Ace of Spades, (marked Less in the name) and he passed SBA..

    I'm confused

    The ability needed to pass SBA depends on the parents. You have tons of different parents linked on these horses. You can't judge foals of *** sires the same as foals of * sires. Totally different.

    these two have the same sire and Jack tested as good as Ace... and then got neutered.

    The wording matters :) Its not "as good as", its "about as good as". There can be a certain % difference between two horses that test AGA. And if the one that passes SBA was just barely good enough to pass, then the other one can be just below passing, but still test AGA.

    Thanks for the links. That makes things way clearer.

    Both have a *** sire so Ace of Spades must be cap breeding quality to have passed. Jack of Hearts is almost as good as cap quality but not 100% there so he failed.
