Who to max
-
I have 4 fillies from the same stallion. 3 are as good as each other, 1 is worse than the others.
Should I max the worst one?
All things being equal ( they share the same mother too) if I maxed them all, would they all turn out with the same pt and paper level?

How do they compare to an exceptional producer? That's what I use as a benchmark for my 2Gs from perfect foundations. To stay intact in my barn they have to be at least as good as expro but I prefer superior. Otherwise, yeah I'd max the worst one if I were going to max any. If you did max all of them, they would have the same breeding ability and should have the same PT, though that can be affected by consistency since maxing doesn't make perfect consistency.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

@cavalynn they're better than dam
Exceptional producer, are there any era 17? I'll try to find oneThanked by 1OopsDotCom -
They don't need to be the same era to comparison test to them. I've been using the same expro stud and expro mare just for comparison testing my 2Gs for ages.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Aha, thank you! Clever ideaThanked by 1OopsDotCom

As I understand it, maxing gives the maximum possible breeding and showing based on the parents, meaning that a horse with a lower PT score or breeding ability will benefit more from maxing than a horse with higher abilities. So I would max the lowest horse which would improve her the most and provide the bigger boost to the afpt of the parents as well (if that's part of your goal here).Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Can happen if the sire is way way worse than the dam.Post edited by Ammit at 2024-07-22 06:07:08Need to contact me? Read this first.

I thought maxing was just for showing, that to increase breeding you needed to boost?

Maxing gives you the maximum potential of the parents, not just showing abilityThanked by 1OopsDotCom

Thank you.
So what purpose is boosting then? -
Boosting gets them past the best that their parent combo can produce.Might be addicted to pixel ponies...
