  • OK so I'm getting close to hitting the cap with money and I'm not particularly into fancy genes etc and don't really breed many horses so thought I would give some money away instead of just buying IVs to hoard.

    Criteria for the recipient:
*Must have been playing for 6 games years or less.
*Must have a goal for their stable! Not just breed for every fancy gene or gimmick which comes along.
*Can tell me who my first foundation Stallion was (account ID# 212295)
*Can tell me who my highest AFPT stallion is at the moment.

So for your entry to count you need to write answers to the four points above. You also need to provide links to 3 examples of your horses which are the results of your careful breeding programme.

The first to reply is NOT the winner. I will carefully select someone who really has put time and effort into their breeding programme.

Only the first 20 applicants go into the draw.

    Hey,

I have been playing since 2015, and boy can I say a lot has changed in what I'm breeding for. :) I used to be all into getting the highest PT at no matter the cost. But now I'm sucked into breeding more carefully and getting horses with even matched pedigrees. I strive to get quality breeding stock over quantity of breeding stock. I push for blue papered 2nd generation mares and later on pray for some gold papered mares by 4th generation. I use strict breeding advice on my 3rd and 4th generation fillies and on all my colts. I recently started only keeping the higher PT altered foals (usually 11 and above) as show horses and then sale the others to auction or back to the game to give myself room in my barns to better organize my horses. I'm very meticulous with my barns and separate the generations out. This has really helped a lot in moving forward with my breeding. I keep all mares I plan to breed in pasture because I feel that the benefit in the breeding ability outweighs that of the monetary value of keeping them out and showing them. I've been working on the ice gene for most of the time here. Unfortunately the ice genes I have now are all 'public' I guess... but I keep my specific lines in house. I try to keep only one stallion of each ice combination I have. This way I am only breeding the my best available stallion. One gene that I would like to have in the future is the satin gene, because I feel like the homozygous effect on a ice carrier would look stunning.

The Goal: Maintain line of strictly bred and tested horses while pushing them to perform better and reach higher paper, PT, showing ability quicker. With a minor goal of incorporating satin in the future (but to me quality comes before color)

To just give you a quick progression idea, here are my 3 examples. A 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation foals this year as my examples. Note that even though the 3G has no remarkable colorings, because of her quality, she remained in the herd.

Based on birthday it's a tie between some horses, but this horse has the lowest number.

  • Did you mean 6 game years or LESS or 6 game years or MORE? If you did mean less than 6 game years (which so far is one real year) then the two people who have replied so far have been playing too long. Also, the game will not allow you to pay hbs to anyone who has held their account for less than two months. If you meant more than 6 game years then you don't have a problem.

Great idea for a competition by the way.

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure.

  • Someone else did a similar giveaway on HJ2, and for the winners who held an account for less than two months, they put up a plain create horse for sale for the winning amount :)

As for my entry, well, I’ve not been playing on here very long at all! I’ve been on HJ2 a couple weeks more and have made more progress there, but as for here I’ve struggled in finding a goal.

I did, however, recently settle on what I want to do. My goal is to breed up to a high star paper level and high PT as fast as I can while remaining within even generations - no bootstrapping here. I’m further requiring myself to do so only with horses that are fully mine - I am creating foundations only, no purchasing of lined horses or even buying outside foundations. While I have several horses left over from my initial “oh pretty” spree on here, those are being sorted through and kept as show ponies or sold. If I won, the money would go to barn space and show ponies and a few creates, as that would be a huge help to me.

Once I’m at star and gold level, I’ll likely start culling based on color. I’ll be going for blacks and gold champagnes, as I love both of those colors and yet they’re relatively easy to breed for.

I don’t have much, but here are two foundations and their foal - the best of my pasture this breeding season.

    Thank you for the opportunity!
  • Hi everyone, I definitely mean 6 game years or LESS so under 1 real year.
I know that's when I hit a wall, I had worked out all the kinks of how to play and had a goal but not the funds to start on my way there.

Great idea for putting up a create for 1mil.

I will pick a winner on 10th June. So don't be shy and put an entry in.

  • Hi,
I've only been playing HJ for a little less than a month. Got started on HJ2 May 1 and decided today to join HJ1 as well.

On HJI my primary focus is going to be breeding even high papered/high PT lines and height. I'd like to specialize in Appaloosas. Black, Grullo, Chocolate Pals, Liver Chestnuts and Blues are my preferred colors. I also want a healthy show herd to help fund my habit but I'm less particular about my show herds height :) As I'm being so particular I currently have two show horses I have picked up from chat to help me on the start to accruing money. The first creates I made did not suit my plans so they are now up for auction. I did purchase a Smokey Black BBB Draft Stallion who suits some of the requirements for line albeit not having lp and I snagged a CABM Draft Mare.

Together they have given me this filly, however since she didn't PT equal to her sire I may end up culling her or boosting her, she has till she is 4 for me to decide:

While I love the fantasy genes and would love to incorporate them into the lines some day they are secondary to the rest.

Based on ID number Lost One Spot APP was your first foundation stallion.
ZP5 Thane with an AFPT of 12.36 is your current living stallion with the highest AFPT.

  • Ive been playing since July of 2017. I’ve been struggling trying to find what I want to breed, but I came across a stallion in my barn and I’ve fallen in love with everything about his color and his only current daughter. I am beginning to cull everything I own in order to be more precise with my breeding. I am really lacking space better breeding stock and also show horses for additional income.

He is an A papered silver buckskin. I love the way horse with AtA gene look and so far both his off spring carries it.

    2g Shake A Bolt

This is his second son. He sadly didn’t receive the AtA. He isn’t the best but he is still a stunning Silver Buckskin. image
    3g Shake for Summer

Here is his daughter. She my very first blue papered 3rd gen from my original blood lines. She also has a PT score of 11 which is also my best from my blood lines. image
    3g Bam Bolty Boi

From what I found this was your first stallion

  • New to HJ1 and HJ2 as of May.

I'm looking at having an even bred Black, Dark Bay, Black Liver, Liver Chestnut, Chocolate Palomino, Sooty Buckskin, W8/LP herd to start.
I've purchased several even bred lined horses to help get that started.

I've got this G2 w8 Chocolate Red Papered Filly http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=6551957
I've got this G2 lp Chestnut Papered Foal
