Satin Adjustments Round 2
-
The worst have the satin issues have been fixed and now I am going to do round 2. If you have a satin horse that shows too little or too much satin please post it here.
Please do not post horses with lots of white markings. They are not usable to diagnose any issues. Solid horses are best for this.
All horses must have fully regenerated images before posting here. Go to your horse control panel tab on their page. Scroll down to "Horse Image Control Panel." In the text under the "Regenerate Image" button it will say "Last Regenerated:." Please only post if it says "Last Regenerated: Tuesday, January 7th, 2025" or later. Thank you.Need to contact me? I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

IMO some of them look "greasy" not sure if Satin is supposed to look like that? Some of them look good though.. so not sure lol just my 2 cents..

My persistently shiny culprits (the ones without a lot of white, anyway):

Lol, some of the horses people say are not shiny enough are identical amount of shiny as the ones people say don't have enough shine. Ya'll gonna be the death of me. :))Need to contact me? Read this first.

I would think it is because it shows less on certain bases. I totally see the over shiny ones looking funky, but even if they theoretically have the same amount of shiny, it's kinda sad to not be able to see the satin at all on certain bases (primarily black for me, although there are other individual horses that I can hardly see it on, like the ones ZenCorgi posted on Forest).ID 195859

Because the feedback I am getting is so conflicting, I am holding a vote on discord. I will let the community decide what the correct amount of satin expression is.
If you choose not to use discord, and have posted here, your feedback will be taken into consideration.Post edited by Ammit at 2025-01-11 01:38:06Need to contact me? Read this first.

I voted in the discord! I don't personally have strong feelings about it, other than I think it was kind of aggressive on the dilute colors. But I'm happy with whatever you decide to go with!Formerly OscarWildin

Agree on the dilute colors. I don’t breed a lot of dilute colors so didn’t even notice until I looked in this thread. Mine are also Dutch wb so maybe that makes a difference but I am enjoying it on my horses.

I rarely use Discord because I find trying to catch up on a conversation and keep up with the current conversations just too confusing. I prefer the "old" style of Satin.. if there was some way to tone it down instead making it only white ( and making the horses look like they got dipped in a vat of bacon grease) I d be OK with that.

I get that you don't like it but now you are crossing the line to just being rude Anni. Please keep your comments civil. Thank you.Need to contact me? Read this first.

I haven’t figured out discord yet, but I like they towards the shinier side.
Some of this is the colors they’re on, but I like this Satin:
xPx2 Illusion
This one could arguably be heading towards too much, but I don’t mind it. It really gives the high gloss Akhal Teke effect. It wouldn’t break my heart if it was toned down. Or if it was kept like that.
xPx2 Mirage
This is very nice shine on a dark horse
xPx2 Griffin
I wouldn’t mind seeing a little more shine here
xPx2 Ghostly Bird
I wonder… is it something that could be made somewhat dynamic with little trouble? So if someone wants more or less they can reroll?Post edited by paradoxphoenix at 2025-01-12 03:32:36 -
What about doing it so you can add it more than once on the same horse, the first stage being a litte, perhaps a medium as 2 applications, then a 3rd application that would produce lots of shine? Perhaps this has already been talked about, if so I apologize.
