Soooo, here for an education. I swear I’m not stupid, but sometimes I sure feel like it, lol. (Dumb brain fog most days.) Speak to me like I’m a 10 year old that’s never owned, bred, or shown a futurity horse in my life, despite having been raised on a RL Appaloosa horse farm… How does this work? What do I need to breed towards/look for in a Futurity siring stallion? What do I need to breed towards/look for in mares to cross him on? How do I identify that their foal is worthy of being put into a futurity? What is Futurity Locked and why do I want to do it? Are there any benefits besides bragging rights? Is it costly to do? Honest to Dog, I’ve read and reread All The Things, and it still looks like split pea soup inside my head.

I know I’m completely behind on this, and obviously won’t be eligible to join here for a bit, but point me in the right direction and I’ll jump on it! And I’m happy with private replies if necessary. Thanks, Y’all!
