Mushroom In Real Life!
Mushroom is a real homozygous recessive gene, found in the Shetland breed. The exact location is not known but they know roughly where it is located and there is now a test for the gene. The Mushroom gene appears to acts only on red pigment and desaturates the color leaving a sepia hue to the coat. Manes and tails range from slightly diluted to near pure white. For a long time there was speculation if the gene was even real. The color is not quite cream, not quite dun, not quite silver.

You can purchase mushroom now through June 14th. As soon as the calender hits the 15th it's gone.
Mushroom is a closed gene and requires a breeder license (comes with your purchase) to breed.
You must have two copies and visible "red" pigment for mushroom to show.
The gene is testable but will not appear in the color name.CLICK HERE TO ORDER

This is super neat! If I did two copies on this stallion of mine, would he be alot darker in color considering he is homozygous DP?

Just a question, I know you don’t stack genes from different sales events, but is the june anniversary considered as one event?
I am asking, because I really love how it looks on the Hidden Gate (and may put in another order) but I would love to be able to get some of the other genes that may become available during this event on it also -

New gene additions are delayed this morning because of sorting out Hidden Gates cheating. I will get these in as soon as I can.
White 8 and Sabino 2 are not creatable genes and not paid for by GMT so I can not add mushroom to that horse. :)

I was wondering if the "Fantasy/Closed Gene Sell Back" button was in the works for the Mushroom gene?
I've got a handful of altered het mu foals I'd like to cull, but since this is my first closed gene I'm not too sure about the auction protocol. It looks like it's allowed, but I'm not sure if it's something that's "done", if you know what I mean. :) -
