Well after almost 12 years of playing Hunt and Jump I think it’s high time I come up with a breed name but I’m terrible at names! So I’m coming to you for help.

My player name is based off my first paint gelding Bandit and my current paint gelding Rileys registered name is Just Watch Me Now.

I’d love if the breed name would be based off the theme of bandits or just watch me now sentiments lol

I also exclusively breed for grullo with white patterns.

As always game rules apply :

1. Names must be one word, capitalized, and be 4 to 20 characters long.
2. They may not be any common English language words.
3. They may not be the names of any countries, or real geographic areas.

Prizes: 500,000 for the winning name (up to 2 winners as I’d like to add a name to HJ2)

Each player can pick a straw from one of my stallions linked below.

For non upgraded players that can’t use straws they can pick to receive a flashy show foal or 10year old show horse with points to help their daily show bonus.

There was an old bandit group back in 1899-1903 called the Alvord-Stiles gang

So you could use some inspiration there...

I think it has a nice ring to it.

Could keep it simple with something like Banditos, or combine the initials for Just watch me now and bandit something like...

Using Google Translate and Bandits:

From Chinese--Caokoutan
From Amharic--Tifatochi
From Gujarati--Benditsa
From Malay--Penyamun

Using "just watch"

From Chinese--Zhisikan
From Greek--Aplakoitan
From Hindi--Basdekho
From Indonesian--Hanyamelihat

Those are just a few of the possibilities there. I used this technique to create my own breed names for the game. Taking Sandy Creek as the base, I ended up with Bachsandigan from German for HaJ1 and Sandbuktian from Norwegian for HaJ2. *G*

My breed is a word spelled backwards, so you could end up with something like..

Rebbor (Or Yrebbor)
Tsieh

Or just straight up make up something:
Bandillo

I'm not certain jamming several English words together would count as a legal breed name for the game.

Yes. I also prefer the different languages, especially if they look easier to pronounce and not a jumble of random letters

I have always loved Latin (studied it for 5 years). :) You could do something like:

Vigilate (watch) and put a spin on it like Vigilaten, Vigalateyn, etc.

Or Russian:
Outlaw = vne zakona (Obviously not Cyrillic lol). You could do “Zakonev”

A faction of bandits in the early 1900s was called the Carrancistas, so perhaps Carrancistan/Carrancisten?

Just some ideas! I tend to go with Latin, Polish (I’m mostly Polish LOL), and Russian for my names. :)

Desperado has been absorbed into English. Bandolero, however, is NOT in the online Merriam-Webster dictionary. :)

Alrighty, I like to use Japanese and Korean google translate alot. The language always sounds so pretty to me. So far, I have

Awai tsuki which means pale moon in Japanese. I think splash grullos kinda remind me of a moons changing phases? So you could use AwaiTsuki as the breed name.

I may add a few more idea if I get more

I do breed for nexus, axiom and KP here which I always think of the sky, clouds, moon and stars

On hj2 I breed ice 1 & 8 with satin lightly sprinkled in. I’m saving up for a Satin stud to really start infusing my lines with satin

I would go for 'Ditley' or 'Dittley' warmbloods/drafts/etc. (From BanDIT and RiLEY)

Or since you are breeding grullos:

cinereus (latin): gray, cinereous, ash-grey, ash-gray, grey, cineritious
or
graucus (latin): grey, gray

Or 'Nebel': it's a german word for nebula, fog, mist, smoke, haze
Or maybe even 'Nevel', this is the Dutch word for it.

Since I'm not sure if the comment about English words being jammed together was in reference to my post, a couple more suggestions:

Bandit->Outlaw-> names: Banjann (old German)
Just Watch Me-> Schaumirzu (German), Letmaren (Dutch)
Just Watch Me + sky/moon/stars -> Stargazer, Hypatian (ancient greek astronomer made an adjective), Aristarchan (ditto)
Riley->Riley B. King (BB King) -> Berclair, Itta Benna
Riley->Riley Poole from National Treasure -> Bartha (his actor), Cibola (from the second movie)
Riley -> Raghallach (Irish)

German = Mondschein

The final breed names I’ve picked are Pontikka and Basdekho

HJ1 - Pontikka - Finnish for moonshine. Fitting for all my Axiom and nexus horses and the clouds of my KP

HJ2 - Basdekho - Hindi meaning "just watch". I’ve been working on a line of ice horses but it’s been coming along slower than I’d like but I’m excited to watch and see where the line goes. With the gene roving sales I’m hoping to add some more closed Ice to my lines in the future

Since the name I suggested is being used on HaJ2, I'm not sure which game version you'd prefer to gift the straw from.

Hmm. Please send the prize money to my HaJ2 account. That one has the smaller daily showing bonus, and so creeps up on the cash cap a little less quickly than this one. :D
