Hunter or jumper?
-
Is there a way to tell if a horse should be a hunter or jumper?
-
It doesn't matter, really. Each horse is randomly assigned a discipline when it is created or "born", but if you'd like to change it, it is easily done using the button you'll find on the right on the Control Panel tab. If you choose to do this, it's best to do it before training, since if you change later in the horse's life, all the training in the first discipline will be lost. Not good.
It doesn't do any harm to breed hunters to jumpers, but if you breed horses with the same discipline together, the offspring will be the same as the parents. -
Thank you! I was thinking that maybe they were born a specific way and needed to keep with that discipline. Is there a way to tell what a horse was trained in, if I bought it from someone else? Sorry if that's a dumb question - I'm still new at this. :)Post edited by McCaslandFarms at 2015-01-23 12:07:23

If you look on your horses main page it will say hunter or jumper near the age/color/etc.

Most people don't ever change it anyway, so unless buying from a new player, I think you can assume that they were trained in the discipline stated. Although unless from an upgraded player you can't assume they were trained at all really LOL
