It is technically against game rules to reserve a horse for someone on the public sales board. It's called the public sales board because anyone can and will purchase horses there. Reserved sales by placing another player's name as the horse's name, or in the owner notes are frowned upon. That is what buddy chats are available for.Go boldly, where no App has gone before!

While you can’t reserve or edit the horses notes “for X player” you can organize a time to both be on and have the buyer have the horses page open and refreshing the page so that as soon as the seller lists the horse on the public sales board the buyer can be the first to buy it.
