H and J's?
-
Could anyone tell me what the H or J after a horse's show level, e.g. "2W J" means?
I feel like it's probably obvious, but I have no idea! -
Shoot, do they stand for Hunt & Jump? If so, why are some horses H's and some J's?
-
H's are horses that compete in hunters and Js are horses that compete in jumpers. It's just the two disciplinesID# 218421Thanked by 1Kintara

The letters and numbers, ie 2W, just stand for what level of competing theyre at. So, Second Class World is the top class of Level 2. Each class - 1 through 8 - start with Local, then Regional, National, and finally world. Each horse is unique, causing them to train, compete, and level off differently. Thats why its so important to train your horses every sunday. For example, take these two show horses:
Horse 1: Leveled off at 6W with 207pts, and a daily earning of 209hbs (you earn daily hbs from horses based on how many points they hold). Places between 10th and 6th place in shows.
Horse 2: leveled off at 8W with 320pts and a daily earnings of 503hbs, consistently in 1st place
While the second horse not only earns higher hbs from competing twice a week, it also is increasing their points and daily income, therefore is worth keeping even when it turns 17. My best earner is 20YO and I bought her when she was 16 xD
However, dont brush off the first horse just yet. While he may not be first or top of the class, he still earns some income from showing, and daily hbs. Leveled off horses do still earn points, its just one point earned over a month or two vs every week. So the small fry has a chance to improve. Also, consider he is 17YO at rollover, and he MIGHT pass at the next rollover. 30 days × 209hb daily payout = 6,270hbs!
Hope this helps :) -
When I started playing, every horse created or born was designated as either a Hunter (H) or a Jumper (J), two separate and quite distinct disciplines. There were shows for each type, and we could change the discipline of a horse, although if it had been training for a while as a Hunter, making it a Jumper would set it's training back to the beginning and it wouldn't place well in classes.
Eventually, that differentiation was no longer important to most players, so Ammit removed it. For the most part, the H and J classifications have disappeared, and there is no difference in the shows. So far as I can see, the H and J still show up on the Show Records page for a barn, but on a Horse's Records tab all the shows seem to be marked as H, even if the horse is shown as a J in the barn page's Show Records.
All that means is that, especially for the barn show records, some old, legacy programming is still present, even though it no longer has importance or even a presence in the rest of the game.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2019-01-21 07:57:17 -
Ah, OK. Thanks!
