Im looking for show horses with 1000 plus points, preferably younger stock (10 and training for 13 and leveled, for example), nothing older than 15. Higher PTs or lined horses are preferred. Willing to spend 10/15k for the right stock

Maybe try the auction? A show horse of that caliber will make 1100 hbs a day. It pays me to keep them vs selling for only 10-15k.
-
They are the money makers! :) I personally wouldn’t sell, unless it was to a new player.
-
Ive been scouring auctions but its all 18YO horses. I need horses with points that arent *possibly* going to roll over xD
@visions ahh...ive never seen a horse that could make 1100 in a day! This is my best one and she makes 500 daily xD https://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=4283477
@veetie yes thats become my problem. All the horses i had when i first started died off so I went from 200k daily to 30k daily. And it keeps dropping cause im losing all my older better horses and everything else I have is younger or low pointed.

Me too, I’m just tending to keep everything now... but then there’s barn space and all that to consider..
-
@veetie
Well let me know if you have any 8-11 YOs that need a new home. Ive got about 100 that are over 17 that i could lose so ill have more space too xD -
My apologies. A 1500 point horse will earn 75% of its points in a week, not a day. Still way too valuable to sell.Post edited by Visions at 2019-01-22 08:07:00

To price a show horse, I use this formula to know what that horse is guaranteed to earn:
0.11 x 30 x (18-age) x points
So a 12 year old gelding with 1500 points is guaranteed to earn at least 29,700 points before he’s even at risk of passing from the game. I wouldn’t consider selling a horse like that for less than 20k - and that’s if he’s leveled off in a bad place and likely won’t earn too many more points. If he was still earning points and/or leveled off in a good place, I’d want more like 25k/30k for that same horse.

The youngest horse in the game with 1500 points is 13 year old (and there are only 25 horses that are 13 y.o. with 1500+ points in the entire game).
I wonder if maybe we should write guide to "how to get a steady economy for more advanced players", since we already have an excellent one for new players. But the principle is still the same.
When I rejoined the game after some years of absence, I had a lot of free barn spaces, since almost all of my horses had died. I spent all my money on buying horses from Foundation rescue and the regular rescue, gelded/spayed them and kept showing them. They earned me a lot of good and steady money over the years, one of the regular rescue horses even became the 2nd horse with most points in the entire game at one point.
You could also buy young horses created with points from new players. I always search for perfect/exceptional young horses with points, they also give a nice boost to the economy.Post edited by Herzeloyde at 2019-01-22 12:04:56 -
Ive edited my post. The higher the points vs age the more id pay. At minimum I need horses leveled with 1000 or in training horses with 400 min
I will buy 13+ PT stock for 10k each (higher the PT or age the greater the amount etc) -
I have these three ladies with over 300 points if you're interested.

5k for first only okay? Youre an associated account so if you could try to post them in frustrated hirses chat maybe i can purchase them that way
-
I have a chat where I can post them, but they're priced as low as I can sell them for. Being reasonably high pointed horses, they're earning their keep, but if someone has a better use for them than I do, I don't mind letting them go.
-
@LenasHollywood - I grabbed the Cherry Drop. that was a very reasonable price for a RS with points.
-
This is a game of patience. Established players did not build their show herds overnight. That said, I know I am putting a slew of untested spayed/gelded 3G foals in the auction. PTs should all be 10-11. You can grab some and let them grow up.
-
If you want relatively fast, relatively cheap show horses, I would highly recommend bootstrapping (and I’m so excited this finally has a name beyond “irresponsible breeding”)!
Breed any mares you have to a star stud. Use the 30 day pasture bonus if at all possible. DO NOT test their offspring. Let the fillies reach breeding age, and breed them back to that star stud (or another if linebreeding bothers you). Your “second generation” of unevens will have the possibility to paper gold and have PTs around 12, if you start with basic create foundation mares. In a few months, they’ll be making the big bucks for you with very little money or effort on your part. The only requirement, as Visions pointed out, is patience.
This is how I built up my show stock, in an era of the game when any uneven breeding was considered taboo. It’s easier now because people understand the point of bootstrapping. The risk paid off, though: my bonus is high enough that I have to remember to convert some HB to IVs every couple of days because I’m earning money much faster than I can spend it.

They don’t have thousands of points, but my friend has pointed creates for sale that make good show horse prospects.

@Lenas I cannot buy public from you thats why others grabbed them. Cherry Drops are also worth around 50k base
I am still looking for anyone willing to sell or negotiate sales. I have plenty of 12/13PT horses that wont be ready for at least another 7-11mo, hence why im looking to replace the older stock im going to lose soon. -
Sorry, I've had them posted for public sale for a few weeks now and assumed you didn't want them at the price I was asking based on your post asking about only the one for 5k, which was pretty significantly lower than what I was asking so I didn't take them down.
Any horse is only worth what someone will pay, and I'd been gradually lowering the cherry drop's price since well before Christmas, so it didn't seem she was worth 50k to me.Thanked by 1Visions -
Bump
Looking for leveled stock or training horses with decent show records. -
I didn't need another Cherry Drop, but heck it was very fair to me when he was for public sale for 16,000 when bravo25 only offered 5,000.
For now I changed him from riding to draft and put him to public stud for 1 hb if anyone is looking for a nice foundation.Post edited by Visions at 2019-01-24 04:26:03 -
Didnt realize he was a rank special, i planned on gelding him anyway.
Will discontinue this post, it has not garnered any sale interest. -
I put a few up for you in my buddy chat. :)Specializing high quality dark horses with lots of chrome.

I sporadically list show horses in my public chat “JL show horse sales” I’m hoping to list some next week possibly as I only have 18 marked at the moment. Now that I have my foals out of the pastures I can catch up on tattooing for a bit and start listing more again.Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes
