CLOSED - ISO B Papered Straws
-
I'm looking for straws to use with this pretty girl. Planning to do an egg flush to give me as many chances as possible to get great offspring since I lost an opportunity with another favorite mare passing at rollover.
Must be warmblood, B papered, consistent, passed breeding advice, and minimal or no white factor since her excessive white factor poses potential lethality risk.
Looking for liver chestnuts but open to suggestions on what might be a cool cross with her.

I have B papered studs here on pages 2,3,4 and 5. Only one that needs a license is my wrong wrap, I can pull straws from any that you might be interested in.

@BreedingStable, I should have specified that I don't breed fantasy genes. I LOVE Deja Vu, but he has enough white factor that it makes me nervous to cross with Whim. I'll have to look through my barn for other mares that may cross better with him. Thank you!
@Jessj, I will take a look, thanks!Thanked by 1BreedingStable -
@LenasHollywood you're welcome :)

I have this guy he’s minimal white factor. Straws are $600 or he’s up for live breeding at $100.

@Silverstar, I am really excited about him - could I get one straw please? 242539

White factor doesn't contribute to lethality at all, if I remember correctly. The only "white gene" your mare has is splash, so she's safe to cross with anything. :)

@Kristin, that is really interesting! I always assumed it did since the title of the table in the FAQ is "white factor risks" chart. If that is the case, do you know for what the white factor in the genetics is used?Post edited by LenasHollywood at 2019-02-02 16:11:28

@Kristin @LenasHollywood
In regards to white factor. This is what Ammit had said when she posted the lethality chart:What controls white factor?
"White factor is a numeric representation of the the sum total of all the little things that influence the amount of white of a horse. Foals inherit some of their white factor level from their parents and some from the genes they have. Mutations can also push white factor up. The more mutations on a foal the higher it's white factor. Beware of breeding risky crosses when splash and frame are also in the mix. They increase the over all white factor and your risk of a lethal foal."
Here is another quote from the post:
"I have created a chart to show you how risky different crosses are. Remember adding splash, frame and high white factor parents to the mix greatly increases your risk of a lethal foal. Green crosses will always be safe dark red crosses will almost always be lethal."
This is the full conversation. Its on server 2 so if you can't see it i can get screen shots. I wasn't sure where to find it here since i don't have it bookmarked here.

@RutledgeRanch - how much for a straw from ThereCanBe?
@HayesStable - thank you! That helps answer a lot of what I have wondered. I certainly have more studying to do. I only play on this server so had not come across that before.Post edited by LenasHollywood at 2019-02-02 17:52:27Thanked by 1HayesStable -

Sorry Ramona! I should have marked this closed. Since I bred this mare, I upgraded my account, and ran her through strict breeding advice without really thinking about it. I almost cried when she failed! I know it's for the best in the end - prettiest spayed mare in my herd.
