I suggest playing with the horse search to figure out how to narrow your searches down. I have such a large barn I would be lost without it.

You can also play with the tack tab on the horses page and dress your horses up. Free accounts have access to some basic things. There isn’t a preview button so you can spend a while looking through the catalog drop down menus and trying different things.

When I made a secondary account I worked on increasing my daily show bonus and filling my bank account a bit using 2 methods:

Creating yearling horses using the perfect, exceptional and/or great show horse Herd helpers. Only run free testing on the horses (Breeding advice) and list them all for sale for a profit.

I priced them by adding 500hbs for every 100 points the horse had

0-99 - 2500hbs
100-199 - 3000hbs
200-299 - 3500hbs
300-399 - 4000hbs etc.

Post a for sale ad in the sales section and post a link to a search page of your horses (select For sale) this way you only need to post that you have updated the list without listing all your horses for sale in the post as the link will be up to date.

Then I also combed through every auction I could. Using the search select For auction and sort by total points. Then I would go down the list and put a minimum bid (2600hbs. No more) on as many horses as I could until I ran out of money to bid. I would check back later in the day if I could and starting where I left off continue placing bids. At first you may not win many horses but as time goes buy and you have more money in the bank you’ll be more likely to pick up more. I usually stopped if the horses total points were starting to be 100 or below.

After the auction I use the barn filter to sort by total points and put my highest pointed horses in my welcome pack barn and listed all the horses still in my primary barn for sale at the above prices.

A few days later I would send whatever didn’t sell to the auction and repeat the process.

Creating horses with points gave me more of a daily bonus and sending the lower pointed horses to the auction gave me more money to spend to replace them with higher pointed horses. I would use the profits to buy another barn for my higher pointed horses and continue to sell/auction the primary barn horses.

Hello! I'm Mouse, and I've just joined. I am both shocked and thrilled to find a horse breeding sim that somehow managed to escape my radar for over 10 years. Having poked around for a few hours, I'm enjoying this site so far! I find equine genetics fascinating and appreciate the apparent attention to detail in the genetics algorithms. I appreciate the adult atmosphere too!

Lucifer and Taridan, no, they don't. You need to log all the way out to get them to change. To do that, use the Log Out link on the bottom of the left menu list. That takes you all the way out of the game. The Sign out at the top of the forum only takes you out of the forum.

Also I'm curious about how to paper my horses too, is that something that's included in the basic upgrade so I can work toward that or is it beyond that?
