Champion Awards
-
What makes a horse a champion?
Thanks! -
There are no designated "champions" in the game. A successful show horse levels off near the top of its final class, depending on it's PT score. A horse with a high enough PT score will reach the top of Level 8 World. Champion breeders are the end of long lines of increasingly higher Average Foal PT Scores. They will all paper *Star or *Gold, but the best breeders will come from many generations of increasingly better breeding abilities until their AFPT is in the very high 14's. The highest individual PT is 15.1. The horse with the highest lifetime point collections in the game at this moment, before roll-over to the new year, is a 27 year old spayed mare with a PT of 14.2, showing at 8W, who has 9,082 points to her record! She has a rather uneven pedigree way back, but the longest line is 16 generations.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2019-02-28 14:48:02

My apologies. I did forget something because I do very little with this aspect of the game.
If you look under Community, you'll find a link to the Breeders Clubs. There is a club for each Era and clubs for a great many colors and patterns. In each of these clubs there are six Leaderboards.
Top Producing Stallion; Top Producing Mare; Highest PT of the Year (for foals); Points earned by Foundation Horses; Points Earned by 2nd Gen Horses; Points Earned by Lined Horses. Except for the Top Producing lists, even neutered horses are eligible to receive an award.
The top 25 horses in each of these categories and each of the clubs are listed each game year. At the roll-over between the 27th and the 28th of the month, awards for the current year are given out. The top horse on each list gets a trophy as Champion for that club and list. The ones who placed 2nd through 25th get ribbons of various numbers.
Stallions and mares have to have had a certain number of foals to qualify for the top producer awards, and I think the awards are made based on the Average Foal PT scores, but I'm not really certain. As I said, the Breeders Clubs are not something I take much time for.
You may enter each horse into up to but no more than 4 Breeders Clubs. If you have a horse that places in the top 10 of any club, its awards will show up on its records tab. There will be a trophy for the champions and ribbons for the others along with a listing of what the ribbon was given for.
Here is the prize record for one of my horses (the ribbons didn't copy).Number 4 Points Earned by Foundation Horses Year 80 Splash Breeders Club.
Number 8 Points Earned by Foundation Horses Year 81 Splash Breeders Club.
Your own horses will be highlighted on the list when you check out the Breeders Clubs, if you have any registered that did well. You can also check out any of the award winning horses' pages if you want, to check out their Records tab and see their awards.Thanked by 1Kintara -
LOL, yes I wondered about that in your first response, I assume the original poster was talking about the awards in the leaderboards, where of course you can get the best producing or championship trophys!
There are lots of different categories 96Chevy, some for showing points, and some for best producing breeders -
OMG... I just checked out of curiosity, and I got two awards!!Thanked by 1Kintara

I believe ribbons only go to the top 10, but there must be at least 25 horses in the category for awards to be given, which is why you see 25 horses on the leaderboard.
-
I assume most know this, but if anyone doesn't, on the first Stable Overview page, there is a link to My Awards under the Performance Overview section, so you can check what you won
-
I was totally surprised that I got any awards because the leaderboard isn't something I chase, since I don't breed boosted lines. Prior to Year 81, my last awards was in Years 74, 73, 67, 61 and 55.

Well you must be doing something right Forestshadow!

@Kintara
Well, about every 3 or 4 game years (or longer), I think to run down all the breeders clubs and toss all the eligible horses into them before the end of the month. Then I never think about them again until the next time it creeps out of my memory storage. So, it was natural that I didn't even think of breeder clubs when I first answered the question.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2019-03-02 08:25:48Thanked by 1Kintara -
Thank you, SandyCreek! Your second response was exactly what I was looking for! I've gotten several ribbons, but never a champion, but now it makes sense seeing as I've never had a #1 horse.
