I tried to start a conversation with another member, but their farm wasn't showing in the drop down menu. What do I do??

I assume that you were using the Search Users feature. If that fails, (and it has, occasionally done so for me, perhaps because there is some unseen difference between the way the name appears here and how it actually is formatted in the game), then click on the member's name in some thread here on the forum. That takes you to a page for that member's activity. On the upper left of the page, below the picture if there is one, you find a link to "Send [member's name] a message."

They may have never come onto the forum. You could poke around the Facebook group and see if they are there.
