Basically... The shoulder mark is the horse's true color

Dark surprises is not hom DP.. Her shoulder mark isn't as dark and mom would be chocolate is she carried DP

Guess the new strategy is to disregard overall darkness and focus on the shoulder patch from now on!

I haven’t heard Ammit say anything about the darkness of the shoulder mark indicating DP, so I wouldn’t take that as the rule of thumb - just a useful tool that *could* indicate DP. If I missed an official statement by her, my apologies. :)

There may very well be variations amongst coats/rerolls and other dilution genes, as well as hom DP that are heterozygous for Sooty.

I haven't seem Ammit mention it. You're right, but for me at least it's better than nothing :D

Ooh interesting, she certainly is quite a lot lighter. The genetic complexity is one of my favorite things about this game, and I love seeing how the different genes interact. If anything I sort of wish there were more secret genes, though I'm sure I'd never be able to keep track :))

This little dude is Home DP and Sooty with the ND1. His shoulder patch is extremely dark just kind of hard to tell with the white spots.
