This has been an awesome thread and very informative for me as a new player. Thank you all for sharing your beautiful pixel ponies and some information as to how dapples show up on our horses!

Like I said, I'm new so mostly only have my first round of foundation horses and am honing in on lines and directions. A few dapples have shown up so with my new knowledge of how they come to be I may try to breed more in the future :)

Cowgirl doesn't have Silver and is SS so I'm not sure where her dapples are coming from. Maybe DP....? Honestly I haven't figured out really how DP works yet, haha

Cowgirl has what we call "reverse dapples" like what my boy and girl has here. And try rerolling Mountain Sounds portrait, she may have more dapples than you think!

Oh that's cool. So what causes REVERSE dapples? LOL. Or do we know?

I will definitely give re-rolling a shot, it would be cool to see how she turns out :) I'll update if I get anything good, haha!

UPDATE - that was easy - two rerolls and her coat lightened up, her dapples popped, and she actually showed her dun markings :D Yay!

I see reverse dapples happens on Classic, Amber, or Cream Champagne horses. Though it could possibly pop up on other coats, but I'm pretty sure it's just horses with Champagne for the most part. As for dapples, it's a mystery as to what REALLY causes it. When we think we've got it down a horse pops up that defines everything we talked about and makes us restart again lol! But I'm super happy you rerolled her and got what you wanted! I had no idea she was dun lol! I just looked at her and thought oh, she's a silver black. A few rerolls and her dapples will POP! They did but not along with dun as well haha! There was also a Chinchilla Champagne foal in this thread with the reverse dapples that looked AMAZING! Not sure if you saw it or not? But just to let you know, if you want your horses to look like the foal did, Chinchilla costs real money to get.

That makes sense about the reverse dapples and that's fun that we don't really know how any of it happens! Haha. But sounds like you more veteran players have a pretty good idea at least of how it works, which is cool. I am focusing on a Champagne line so I will have to keep an eye out for more dapples ;) And remember to re roll if they dont show up right away!

Thank you! Her mom and dad are het DP (mom is proven DP when put with a hom DP stallion, she threw a black liver colt)

I find that the Forest server is a lot faster paced and it's a lot more tailored towards riding horses whereas this server is more warmbloods... Forest server is also big on DP and seems like everyone has a liver line going

I ended up with a few in one of my pasture breedings lol, mostly chocolate palominos though since I put my dark chocolate and 2 rhythm of four studs in there @paradoxphoenix
