lol, I've found the quickest way to find something is to ask someone else. They don't need to respond, it's just that as soon as you announce that you can't figure something out, you do. ;)

Real life color questions
Looks brindle to me, but appy can do some really funky stuff. And yes, they can appear to change color with every season. I had a bay appy who did that. She's look almost buckskin one season, then go to mahogany the next. Appies are weird…

Mare Papering Bug?
It's not like stallion papering that judges the horse itself. It judges the quality of the foals. So if those "ex" mares had three or more living foals, then yes, they'll be on the list.

You go to the horse's page, then copy the address that shows up in your browser....that area where you'd go to type a web address? Just copy the whole thing that shows there when you are looking at the horse, then paste it in their ad here…

It's easy enough to put them up for sale accidentally when you're wanting to put them up for breeding. I'm betting you corrected it and then never gave it a second thought. :)
