I don't have any example horses. don't know I could do anything buy buy them first, but that's a bit costly just to answer a question, isn't it.

Ah, I didn't know that. What do you do when the pedigree looks miles long like in the case of some of the golds and stars? How do you calculate how many generations they are, or does it matter once you reach that level?

I keep mine in their name, others use tattoos. LC is my foundations, LC2 2nd gen, LC3 is 3rd etc.

By breeding similar quality horses, you are more likely to get intact foals. It does get more difficult as generations progress, but that is the fun part of the game for me. I produced my first homebred even 7th generation foal recently.

I use a similar system as Humboldt except I use 2 prefixes JL for mares and JS for studs and use the alphabet to denote generations starting at 2nd Gen. this way I have a long time before I need to come up with a new naming system and keeps my horses easy to sort in the search feature without mixing them in together and when adding horses to pastures they are all organized by generation.

So JLa would be a second Gen mare and JSd would be a 5th Gen stallion.
