Cheshire Farms Dun Factor Appaloosas
-
Some time ago we added Mushroom to our lines to see how it would look with Dun Factor. Unfortunately like most genes in the game, it doesn't like Dun Factor 1. But our horses were producing some great big spots, and we liked the shade variation they were throwing on our Liver Duns, so we kept them.
CF Koolie EV D1 MU A1 DP, his foundation line introduces the Appaloosa Spot Regulator gene for larger spots.
CF3 Dashing Gentlemen, check out the spots on him! Dash comes form The Mushroom Prince and Koolie lines. He is used to breed our 3rd gen mares.
CF4 Kids Gunna Dash A1 MU, is descended from The Mushroom Prince on both sides and is used for our 4th gen mares.
These are some of our 3rd generation Mushroom Dun Factor Mares.

It was never our intention to get into the Fantasy Horses, but Christmas of 2021 our friend Classic Creations (aka Nan) gifted us CF Neon Lights, and then had to buy us CF Inks Bold Streaker soon after because Nan didn't know we had to have a license! So lots of laughs and money later, I now had the first foundation pair for a Fantasy Breeding Program.
Unfortunately, less than a month later, we learned that Nan had passed away over her own Rainbow Bridge. And in part this program is to honor her gift to us. And I admit, these colorful Appies have grown on me. Now we have Fantasy Genes such as Inkspot, Watercolor, Toner, Axiom Nexus, Ice 1, Chocolate, and Lace. In our mind, these colorful appies are Unicorns that exist behind our property in an alternate dimension LOL.
CF Inks Bold Streaker EV, is a foundation Evergreen Appaloosa and is heterozygous for Ink Spot.
CF Aqua Washi EV, is a foundation Evergreen Appaloosa and is homozygous for Dun, Dunfactor, and Rainbow Riot 2. All foals produced by him will be Dun with either Ink Spot or Toner, and may or may not express Dunfactor Markings depending if they inherit DFP1 or DFP2.
Washi can be found standing for stud in the CF DFP1/DFP2 Breeding Chat
In order to prepare for our 2nd and 3rd generation breeding program, we started to collect outside bloodlines. Most of these stallions are actually boosted 5%, so we are looking forward to starting a competitive army of Colored Ponies.
CF Eureka, is a rainbow Brown Appaloosa that is homozygous for Phantom Lace.
CF Tone Me Down, is this brilliant brindle that is heterozygous for Ink Spot.
CF Queen of the North, is a Smokey Cream that is homozygous for Ice 1.
CF Neon Lights INK, is a Bay Dun with large Inky Spots.
CF Wap Licorice, broke the system when she was made. She would have been a Black Appaloosa, but her homozygous Axiom Nexus genes flipped the switch.
CF Toasted Marshmallow OX, Marshmallow was an Evergreen Boroughs HH that we were holding on to for the Dun Appaloosa Program. But one day she escaped her pasture and wandered. In her exploration she walked right into a Change Circle, and when she came high-tailing it back home, she was a horse of a different color! She is heterozygous for Onyx, and homozygous for Phantom Diamond Sparkle.
We're excited to build up our 2nd Generation Breeding Program, and will hopefully have a 3rd Generation Program soon.Post edited by CheshireFarms at 2022-06-23 10:39:02Thanked by 1Nightphoenix -

With the Gift Exchange here, don't forget that this breeding program exists! We are breeding up to 9th generation DFP horses, and carry genes such as Mushroom, Chocolate, and Appaloosa Spot Regulator. To read all about our breeding programs, check out the article on the first page here: https://www.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/48716/cf-dun-appaloosa-breeding-program-alphabet-soup-of-colors/p1
We also keep a line of Fantasy Appaloosas. -
This is incredible, beautifully organized and it’s just amazing. Great job!Thanked by 1CheshireFarms

Finally, FINALLY, it's here. We've been waiting forever. And considering this Herd Helper only comes out every 4 years, no wonder we have been waiting.
We're proud to announce we have 2 new mares to add to the foundation DFP breeding program. *Edited* And one Stallion.

CF Inks Bold Streaker EV
CF Inks Bold Streaker EV is a foundation Evergreen Boughs Appaloosa, so they are homozygous recessive for varnish (which means they wont white out from LP as they age). They also carry a colorful copy of Ink Spot, a $20 gene. Asking 2 mill instead of the 3mill it would cost in HB's for the gene.
Stallion can be purchased in the Appaloosa Breeders Chatroom. -
CF Freckles Smooth Goer D12
CF Freckles Smooth Goer is a clone from one of our older Dun Factor Foundation horses. This stunning boy was modified to be HOM for DP and Sooty.
He can be purchased for 3 million dollars in the CF DFP1 & DFP2 Sales Chatroom. -
This is such an amazing post :D I wish there was a section of the forum just for things like this, for people to blog about their breeding projects... not sure how many people would use it, but I always really enjoy seeing this kind of thing, with all of the pictures and links laid out so nicely :xID: 247225

@Heartwood me too. I miss the old school horse SIM games where you could customize your ranch main page, and organize it. I have to organize everything off this site into google docs, and this forum.

I'm doing a 3 day auction of over 250 Dun Factor Stallions. That should be enough time for you to grab some last minute things for the GE or do your breedings.
Stallions May Be The Following- 2nd to 14th Generation
- Evenbred or Bootstrapped
- Passed SBA
- Some have already been Comp Tested
- Some may be Maxed and/or Boosted
- Highest PT is 14.5
- Highest Paper is ***
- Big Spotty Appaloosa
- Dun Factor 1 & Dun Factor 2
- Mushroom
- Rainbow Riots
- Duns & Solids
- Lots of HOM Sty & DP
- TE1/2, H, Bl, P+, sa, gp
Looking for something specific? The horses name might help you find what you are looking for!- Search CF# for specific generations (CF2 being 2nd Gen, CF10 being 10th gen). These are all even bred horses.
- CF ____ BS will tell you that the horse is Bootstrapped (uneven bred)
- EV at the end of the name means the horse does not have any Recessive Varnish genes (they hold their color and pattern longer than horses with Recessive Varnish genes). Most my stock is all EV.
