So I keep narrowing down my Appy mare herd into what should give me the Appies that best match my goals so I have a reasonable number.... and then I acquire more. Oops.

My favorites are:

Freaky Friday! I was so excited that this one came up that I had to splurge to GMT her into (one of) my dream appy. She is a master piece. I love her.

Paradox Superstitious

And I traded for this pony filly, too. Already and appy! No GMT needed. It will be a couple seasons before she’s breedable but that’s okay. I’m super excited.

And finally, I’ve been watching and watching for Candyappleloosa to come up again. I managed to snag one last night/this morning from the herd helper thread and she got nd1!

This breeding season was a little bit of a bust and a little bit of a success at the same time. My leopard mares kept throwing solids.

My one and only snowflake got spayed:

But I did get a nice Liver colt out of my Freaky Friday mare. Of course he had to be a colt and not a filly. :p He is superior to his sire but not as good as my best colt from that sire. I’m planning on keeping him around for his colour, though, because he’s better than my other two DP appy colts.

My Candyappleloosa stallion and mare gave me a Brindle snowcap filly! I’m thrilled to pieces with her.

They're gorgeous! I'm waiting on the second to breed mine, so hoping for some intact foals this time. While I'm waiting though I was checking out yours because I purchased a couple of yours. Mines not all appies, because I've got some solids mixed in to carry the color I want the line to carry. Here's hoping we can both get these going, though you've got a pretty good handle on yours already.

Finally got a filly from Superstition! And she’s a double homozygous appy!

Still have no luck from my snowflakes, though. Darn the negative side of the 50% Bith these fillies got spayed anyway, so I guess it doesn’t matter.

Still getting mostly colts with the first round of foals from my other two appy stallions. I’m waiting on the rest of my mares to hit 30 days in pasture. Hopefully i get more fillies then. :p

Only 3 out of 10 foals by Seeker were fillies. One, in spite of the 30 day bonus, still papered Yellow. Her momma is now spayed because she just doesn’t produce to my standards.

Of the other two fillies, this one is double homozygous!

Me, too! Large blankets and leopards are my favorite. I like the double homozygous for breeding only because they have a greater chance of giving me large blankets and leopard. :p

I ended up gelding the double homozygous colt I posted yesterday because my favorite mare gave me a double homozygous colt by my chestnut leopard stallion. He tests superior to his sire! He’s awesome.

Look at this little pseudo leopard filly I got from my two snowflake carriers! She only has one PATN1 gene (Sire doesn’t have PATN1), but if you didn’t know that you’d never guess it just looking at her.

She missed the snowflake, though. :( There’s a good chance she carries. And she did get fun colour genes from mom.

Snowflake is a hidden gene. It's on the same set of alleles that control varnish on all appoloosas. Apparently there is more code than we see to making ponies.

If you'd like some different snowflake genes (plus liver genes lol) I can pull straws from this stud, or you can breed to him. He tests as good as sire, he is a sport pony though

Well if you do, I'd very much be interested in him! I love splash horses and the fact that he hides it.

I won’t have many 3G foals this season, but here are two so far!

He papered A, which is exactly what I want from a 3G colt. His PT score is disappointing, but he’ll stay intact until I have a superior replacement. He is the grand offspring of my first Appy stallion, Paradox Phantom.

This filly is also a grand offspring of that first stallion. She is absolutely beautiful! Sadly, she was spayed, but her PT score is good enough for me to keep her and show her.

Enigma, mystify, or parable. All a form of Paradox. I can come up with a few more if you'd like. I think I like Mystify the best, myself.

I tossed this stud in my pasture just to see what I'd get since he just turned 3. Definitely not unimpressed. I got 2 snowflakes (didn't know he was a carrier) and a brindle that isn't pictured
